Think so? The Supreme Court seems to think otherwise...

This out of control spending mantra is 7 years too late. Where were you guys when George Bush was spending money we didn't have on 2 wars, one created in the dark depths of his mind, costing America $3 Trillion, then the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan, which also was not a cheap engagement.
How about a cry from the back of the room when Bush signed the two rounds of Tax Cuts, one in 2001 and 2003, or the expansion of the Federal Workforce with Federalizing the TSA and the creating of the Dept of Homeland Security?
If you could not identify out of control spending when it was ongoing under Bush, how is it we are to assume you can identify a shrinking budget deficit since Bush has been gone as out of control spending today?
<quoted text>
A careful look at the history of government spending shows that it is usually the Republicans that actually add more spending by the government when they are in power, and then they cry crocodile tears about the debt when the Democrats hold the majority.

However, the REAL problem is an election system that rewards the biggest spender, forcing the politicians from BOTH parties to constantly run around grubbing for ever increasing buckets of cash, and the subsequent need to offer some form of payback to those donors. And if it is not that payback to the big money donors, then it is the pork barrel projects that make the voters happy, regardless of the benefit to the nation as a whole.

I don't understand what is so radical about a politician being real and up front about reckless spending and careless way of the government.
How can anyone be against being financially responsible?
Looks like the country has reached the tipping point where politicians would rather please their 'gimme, gimme' voters than to work in the country's BEST INTEREST and be FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE.

Reckless spending might get them re-elected, that kind of behavior WILL bring the ENTIRE country down on its knees.

Start mourning. Your Tea Party has committed suicide.
At what point will the COUNTRY'S cupboard be empty??$18 TRILLION,$20 TRILLION,$25 TRILLION in DEBT??

At what point do you think the government will have committed FINANCIAL SUICIDE?

Since every dollar we are spending is now borrowed, the cupboard is already empty.

How can spending be out of control now when cuts to spending has brought down the Budget Deficit from the record deficits left behind by George Bush? There has not been this level of cutting spending in America since 1950s.

The spending is going toward the debt left by George Bush for his signature expenditures on his tour, those wars were not free, the Trillion dollar prescription plan to the Pharmacy Industry has to be paid for, and those Tax Cuts Bush signed into law don't come cheap.

Some of you act as if you were not conscious of the fiscal disaster that Bush and the Republicans left this nation.

Why is it nobody remembers, well nobody that votes Republican seems to remember Dick Cheney's doctrine that "Deficits don't matter"?

The republicans are up in arms about Health Care, but nobody complained when Bush dedicated $1 Trillion for the rebuilding of Iraq. Not one word against that spending bill was uttered by any of the supposed "Fiscal Conservative Republicans"

Yes, as long as it is CALLED "Obamacare". If given its proper name, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, it approval rating goes WAY up. And even those that claim they do not like "Obamacare" still say they like everything IN the act.

In other words, the people who say they don't like it are just whining over the fact that a black man is in the White House.
