Full story: NBC29 Charlottesville

Three cheers for Hurt, Cantor and Goodlatte. Hiking taxes without cutting can only delay or derail economic recovery.

Hurt has not got a clue!!!! Social security has nothing to do with debt. It has not cost one penny of debt. It is funded by pay roll deductions. Most people will never get back what they put into S.S.. These clowns should be removed from office. They are nothing but protectors of the rich and corporations. The problem is more of a revanue problem. You have got rich that pay no taxes. You have got corporations that pay no taxes and some get money back. Oil companys make billions of dollars a quater, pay no taxes and are paid money to drill oil. 80 of the top 100 corporations pay no taxes!!!!! For example GE,Bank of America and Citi Bank are a few.

What these guys seem not to be aware of is that the deal pauses the 110 billion in automatic spending cuts for two months, which means they all have to WORK on coming to a compromise on spending cuts before that happens.

I can not believe that my congressman Hurt, voted against this bill. What is up with you Bob? Thank goodness that the bill passed or else we would be in a bigger mess. Maybe you voted against the bill because it put aside pay raises for congress? Hum.

Also Mr. Hurt, I have sent you four emails in the past two months and you have not replied.

Social security is attached to the debt because congress has raided it and written ious that they will never repay. Adam Smith - democrat congressman said today, Americans DEMAND the government to spend money on social programs, and they need to pay for them. So while the higher income tax bracket will pay more in taxes now, the dems are not done and soon the middle class will also be paying more in taxes. Obama care starting this year has increased taxes, just wait until you need medical supplies. The real issue is, who do you want controlling your money, government or you!

Bobbie Hurt continues to bring down the public opinion of the GOP.

Voting to essentially raise taxes, and want to continue to burden the low income workers and Senior Citizens, is not a profile in courage. It is the exact opposite.

If you continue to make the same mistakes, and expect a different outcome in the next election; you are a Repuglican.

Why would they vote no to avoid serious ramifications for their constituents, when it is their fault that they have waited until the last minute to take action. If these 3 have a problem with the pace of change, I hope that they have all put bills in the hopper that will reduce spending, if that is their goal. You can't do nothing and then vote No just to be a jerk.

They cut it $500,000,000,000.00 in 2012. It never ceases to amaze me just how uniformed some of you are when it comes to our Government and spending. What about the trillions spent since 1968 to fight poverty that hasn't reduced the percentage of people who fall below the so called poverty line?
