Automatic cuts are getting a big yawn from Washington

Feb 15, 2013 Full story: The Washington Post 79

As deadlines go, the March 1 sequester lacks punch. Nobody's taxes will go up; the U.S. Treasury won't run out of cash.

Hopefully the Republicans will have the strength to not give in to Democrat whinning. If shutting down the Government is the only way to get spending cuts, so be it. The Democrats don't think there is a spending problem. If they cannot see the problem they cannot possibly begin to correct it.

Congress left town for nine days, with scant hope of averting deep cuts to the Pentagon and other agencies in the short time remaining when lawmakers return.

Not surprising.

This is why their approval numbers are lower than cockroaches, N.Korea, Root canals and the Ebola virus.

On the bright side, their numbers can only go up.

Then again, they're teabaggers so there is always room to sink even lower.

Gonorrhea low.

Poor teabaggers.

Republicans have nothing to lose. Because if they don't start showing some spine, they will get clobbered in the next election. Since both parties have their agendas, they know that the morsels they like will be affected also. How long can you give savers 0% interest at the banks? For five years now and the deficit is still through the roof as the agendas are played out. To the politicians its..."Let them eat cake"!

We will have to do just what Reagan did after Carter gutted the military......a pattern followed by Clinton and Obama both.

Obama administration winds down plan for 'uninsurables'

Obama dumps on da peoples again..........

Published February 15, 2013

WASHINGTON The Obama administration is quietly winding down one of the earliest programs created by the president's health care overhaul law.

It's a plan that provides stopgap coverage for uninsured people with medical problems who have been turned down by insurers.

The military isn't going to be "gutted" anymore than the rest of the federal govt.

$50 billion in cuts to the military is just a drop in the bucket compared to their $500+ billion annual budget.

Maybe they'll get rid of a couple of Admirals & Generals; we currently have more Admirals than we have ships in the Navy.

Better yet, cut half of the 800,000+ civilian DOD employees; we currently have 1 civilian DOD employee or every 2 active duty servicemembers. Either give them a gun or send them home.

Republicans are going to get clobbered in the next election no matter what, especially if they continue to oppose immigration reform and mandatory background checks which are supported by over 75% of the population.

Well, we already know that Obama and the Democratic Senate can't make a deficit-less budget.
The Republicans would not know being their Budget didn't reduce the deficits but rather added faster to the debt as the Republicans Budgets always have. You only need to review their Budget from 2002 to 2009 to verify those facts. And, review the Ryan proposed budget.

In the 234 years of America the Republicans have never come close to balancing a budget or reducing spending.

Another casualty of Republican spending cuts like diplomatic security for the State Department.

The Republicans would rather see Americans with diseases like Cancer die instead of seeing them have a chance at living through insurance to cover their medical procedures. This is similar to Behghazi. Republicans in congress are comfortable seeing Americans die rather than provide the proper funding for Diplomatic Security.

The Reps are not being blamed for this one - the peoples question is "WHERES OBAMA" and the promise he made the last time. The Dems are sitting on their azz hoping the Reps will lose seats in the House but at the rate the Dems are going the Reps are going to GAIN SEATS in the House and Senate.

People are not stupid and they can see what has happened. When a crisis comes up Obama goes on vacation, campaign trail or just runs and the Dems just sit doing nothing.

Crisis aren't coming up, Crisis are being manufactured by the Republicans to thwart any positive gains in the economy to make their candidates viable in the mid terms. With a 19% approval rating in the country the Republicans need hair brain schemes and could only hope the people aren't paying attention to their tactics. Thus far it's not working....

Teabaggers are the only ones working - the Dems have not hit a lick since Obama came into office - when was the last budget. You knew the Dems have been in office now for 5 years and the last time there was a budget was when Bush was in office. Maybe Obama will take his millions and pay on the debt.

They are gutting the military, they are arming the Muslim Brotherhood, and the ghetto gangs, and want to disarm the law abiding. What is wrong with this picture. Republicans should stop them in every possible way, because this is no longer the America the founding fathers envisioned. We have lost so many rights. Look at N Y. Bloomy is still a Democrat at heart. His constituents are too stupid to decide how much pop to drink, and what to take their take-out in.

Both parties are posturing as usual. They could care less about the country and its people. This is just another strategy in their never ending re-election campaigns. Today's politicians make me want to puke! Decades ago both parties had members with actual principles. Not anymore!

Where did these politicians have principles? Not Chicago. Chicago politicians has been dirty for 100 years or more. My Congressman is clean, That is why the Democrats tried to have his district removed. The Democrats left too many Republicans in the new district, and ran a liberal against him so they lost.
