Wow, so now ONLY heterosexuals who are married and have natural children of that marriage should be granted PRIVILEGED STATUS.......how wonderful of this man who is against abortion for EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE except his wife, who slept with his wife and their deceased fetus and who then took that fetus home for his children to hold, so that they would know that their brother was a real person........how frucking sick is that?

The more this man speaks.......the more he kills his own chances!!!

25% of Iowa nutty Republicans voted for this crazy white guy whose proper place would be either in a mental asylum or Gitmo.
It speaks volume on the depth of racial hatred boiling in the empty skulls of white Amerikkka.

In Europe a nutcase saying he would launch a war without any reason immediately after his election would lose nearly every vote.

What it does is confuses them more than anything. Gay folks are for the most part loving people. Kids just don't need to see gay folks together. Its the wrong idea.

Oh well that clears it all up! Thanks! Because even though being gay is a lovable disease... it's still a disease that can be easily caught by children who haven't quite built up an immunity with lies and BS. It all makes sense now - I'll make sure to avoid all children in the future.

ROFL, what is with some of these antigay people? Now "fedupwiththemess" has said something unaccountably kind about gays. I'm troubled by the latter portion of his/her comment, however. On what *basis* is there this continued insistence that gay people should be "invisible" to children? I think that every rule to which heterosexuals would be held is perfectly acceptable where gay people are concerned -- nor should someone like "fedupwiththemess" feel a need to clarify endless that he/she is being fair-minded -- but it COMES OFF as if people are segregating "the bad gays," which of course only leads to problems.

True, kids don't need to know about sex at all. But beware equating gays WITH sex, which is as offensive as telling a black person they're stupid or lazy. EVERYONE is multifaceted.

No, its not a disease. I said nothing about being gay. I said gay marriage. Folks being gay has no effect on children, however gay marriage does.

Fedup....I can't believe I heard it from you!!! Yes, we are good, loving people...and there are not so good homosexuals. Just like heterosexuals. We are just people, as diverse as any others. Our orientation has nothing to to with the kind of people we are. In the hands of one of our skilled homosexual surgeons (of course, you as a patient would never know this fact) you have the best chance of recovery anywhere. It does my heart good to see you recognize this fact.

BTW There is no wrong idea to get from seeing couples together. Our grandsons love us both. There is no confusion. They have a daddy, a bapa, a granpa, danty, grama-grama (that's me), grama Sharon, G-ma, Granny D, hosts of great Aunties and Uncles and cousins. One cousin has just one arm due to cancer. They take all this as normal, and bask and grow in the love that is given them by all. Very lucky little boys.

The same stupid arguments were made not very long ago to try and stop inter-racial marriages. The arguments were nonsense then, and they are still nonsense.

Lying, bigotry, and hate are not family values. If you teach kids to lie, to be bigoted, and to hate then is there any surprise they grow up to lie, to hate, and to be bigots?

If you think Iím wrong, then explain how someone like Sarah Palin who has a failed political track record and the vocabulary of a 6th grader can be considered by right wing nuts as a contender for the presidency.

Funny, you realize what a big can of worms you are opening with this rule ?

It means no GOP member or voter could raise children ?
Boehner-Santorum will have to increase then the budget of social services for all these poor kids exposed to Republican mental illness by trillions ... LOL

Really???? CaptainSplendor??? let us hope with your comments that you are not raising children.... CaptainSplendor indeed, some mental illness there, at least some issues. Gay Mom wrote such a beautiful loving statement on the HUMAN condition, and you notice she never said her family was perfect, just simply it was a family. If my two sons were ever to develop a mental illness as you describe, I would hope it would be the same type of Gay Mom. Love to you grama-grama.

What effect is that? opening their minds?

They will grow up knowing gay people and will learn for themselves that anti-gay bigots are full of lies. THAT'S the effect YOU are afraid of.....that YOU will be seen as a prig and a willfull bigot. "gay" marriage does not harm children.

It doesn't confuse them as long as they don't have ignorant parents like you. If a parent raises their children properly to respect people for their difference (race, sexual preference, etc) There will not be an issue. Hate breeds hate, intolerance breeds intolerance.
