Obama hopes to enact new gun-control measures in 2013

By Meghashyam Mali - 12/30/12 09:49 AM ET

President Obama on Sunday said he would make gun control a priority in his new term, pledging to put his “full weight” behind passing new restrictions on firearms in 2013.

Shock and Awe, this has been his goal since being a Senator that voted Present more than anything. Since he is supposed to be a constitutional lawyer and expert, he must plan on ignoring the constitution..........more shock and awe.

They never lost their imagination: their imagination conjured up poll numbers that showed Romney winning the presidency… their imagination had them calling Obama a Marxist, socialist communist who wasn’t born in this country and it still has them impeaching and removing President Obama over this Benghazi non-issue. Their imagination had WMD’s in Iraq and it made Ronald Reagan into some great icon of a president…

The headline should read "how the right lost it's mind"

Today’s GOP practices fiscal policy as conceived by the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity: no new taxes, cut social programs, leave the rich alone and let the poor suffer in silence. As for Obama, he’s a socialist who probably wasn’t even born in these here good ol’ United States — as Donald Trump is so fond of reminding whoever still actually bothers to listen to the pathetic showman.

Much has been acknowledged by Bill Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard and one of the leading voices of what’s left of the serious wing of the conservative movement, that part of the GOP that hasn’t kissed the ring of the Tea Party and still knows how to think for itself.

Kristol recently wrote that today’s Republican Party reminds him of Eric Hoffer’s famous observation about how “Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business and eventually degenerates into a racket.”

"There's a sucker born every minute" credited to P.T.Barnum.

Teabaggers are a prime example, except multiply it by 10.

Poor teabaggers.

Case in point: only in the imagination of a silly right-wing tea-bagger is the last 4 years – where Osama bin Laden was killed, HCR was passed and signed into law, GM was saved, our economy was pulled from the edge of total collapse and his winning re-election – seen as a failure.

What do you think about the rise of civilian deaths in Pakistan by US drone attacks. Drone attacks have increased by 100% under Obama.
What do you think about the President signing NDAA into law, which gives him the power to lock up Americans he feels are terrorist with no due process?
What do you think about Americans being placed on a kill list if suspected of terrorism?
In my opinion all administrations have good and bad, but the above to me is troubling.

Yes but your talking about in the world of Objective reality....Republicans live in an entirely alternate universe of their own making.

Obama didn't sign NDAA into law he only extended it.

That was signed by Bush in 2005.

"lock up Americans he feels are terrorist"

That was signed by Bush in 2006.

And just think, you've only got 4 more years of President Obama to deal with; followed by 8 years of President Hillary.......

Imagine how you're going to feel when President Hillary nominates former President Obama to the SCOTUS to replace Justice Scalia!

Now THAT'S funny!!!

Just remember, you heard it hear first.....

Why would a Conservative have an imagination? That'd be like expecting them to have a sense of humor or a sense of honor or a sense of decency.

The average modern right winger has none of these things. They're like senile old men with canes, or spoiled, fussy chidren - they don't get their way and someone's going to pay.

Certainly the notion of a 'public good' is far, far beyond their understanding.
