Kathleen Sebelius: Veteran of health care wars

Full story: CNN

Navigating the political waters in her own family, says one ally, likely prepared Kathleen Sebelius well for the partisan cauldron she's now enduring in Washington over the rocky rollout of the Obamacare website.

Should a president of the American people tell the truth about his new regulations that aimed at doubling the cost of health insurance or losing health insurance to 20 million Americans only to finance free healthcare for more than 30 million foreign illegal invader sick and poor from all over the world in return for their vote for the progressive liberals? Evidently, Obama was able to get votes of millions of Americans for his statements and be re-elected in 2012 with his lies about “If you like your doctor you can keep it” and “If you like your health plan you can keep it”. The 90 million baggers and parasites that do not work and do not pay taxes of mostly Blacks, Hispanics and Middle Easterns that were promised by Obama free Obama care on the back of the hard working Americans mostly conservatives that will have to pay twice for Obama new regulated private insurance plans for the Obama revolution that will destroy the GOP in the 2014 elections using the Obama’s most loyal liberal zealous henchmen in the IRS and the NSA that go after conservatives, GOP politicians, Tea party and their potential donors that are scared away to identify themselves as supporters of the Obama opposition party of the GOP. Will the GOP RINOs led by Mitch McConnell and John McCain stand by the American people or will they ‘go along’ like spineless cowards with the Obama new lies about the new Obama’s ‘double priced regulated private sector health plan’?

LOL

I must admit though do not get distracted by the website woes or Obama Care itself. The cause of excessive price gouging inflation is the medical mafia of the insurers and providers. I'm disappointed that insurance and providers haven't come up with or mass marketed cheaper alternatives. They are just sitting there waiting for their payout/payoff.

You think it's just insurance that gouges? What about the company who makes a plastic surgical connector for .50 and sells it for thousands? Why do contacts cost less than pennies to make and sold for hundreds? What about the fraud who claims they slipped in the waiting room and sues for millions? What about the mooch who gets free care and sues the doctor for millions because her free emergency surgery left her with a nasty scar? What about the contractor who gouges the hospital for repairs or construction costs that would cost half the price? What about the costs of a physician's education that has risen over the past few decades more than the increased cost of treatment? Education was far less costly thirty years ago compared to today but salaries have not kept up....they have declined, instead. OSHA standards and other regulations have imposed costs that didn't exist in the past. Energy costs to operate a building have risen dramatically over the past twenty years but costs for specific medical procedures have not risen nearly as dramatically and some have not at all.
I will agree the insurance industry has gotten away with some gouging but you have to understand they are in cahoots with big govt. They have been able to get away with highway robbery for as long as I can remember. Go to the fanciest office complex and it will be in the insurance business. Obamacare is a windfall for them and they are going to become even more powerful at the expense of all of us. Don't forget, they do have to contend with fraud which raises the cost for all of us.
I suppose the insurance industry is a kind of mafia but remember, it has always been in partnership with big govt.

Explain your position on providers? Are you referring to physicans and hospitals? Spare me. Do you expect to get paid for your work? Do you commonly get paid months and sometimes years after you've performed a service without interest?
In what ways can medical treatment be mass marketed? What are the cheaper alternatives?

Basically you described costs of most businesses experience in one form or another. The dollar amounts might be different but they can be just a catastrophic to a small business especially. And that's what many medical practices are: a business.

I do agree that the cost of medical education/education in general has gotten out of control frequently increasing more than inflation. Why?-Third party reimbursements. They know there is money out there for the students to get wether it's by loan, grant or scholarship.

And yes monopolies wouldn't exist if weren't for intentioned government regulation or lack there of.

There are a lot of factorS in the high cost of health CARE and INSURANCE. That's exactly why one bill/law will not or cannot fix decades of causes/problems.

Agreed which is exactly the reason obamacare is so wrong. Medical is unique because payments are usually not provided at time of service. There are carrying costs involved that are rarely recovered. I much prefer keeping govt at arms length in any plan which is why I oppose ACA so much. I am especially concerned with the way ACA was implemented which smacks in the face of freedom and the desires of the taxpayers.

During her testimony today, the HHS Queen informed us that the same caveat applies to employer based insurance plans as well. In other words, if you are currently covered under a plan provided by your employer, watch out! Chances are quite good that it will not meet these new ObamaCare ‘standards.’ But, if we listen to the explanations and equivocations from Obama this should not matter, because all of these plans were ‘sub-standard’ anyway, right? No matter that we obviously picked the best options from our choices, no matter if we like the plan or not, it was just another lousy option according to our perfect community organizer in chief. That is on the horizon for 2015..........

Regulations established on the insurance companies and providers would have accomplished "playing by the rules", but your dear chosen one and his minions had to set it up to glean huge profits from investing in it. Greed has sunk the dem party. Rock ON!!!!!!

Even with all the troubles so far, the real disaster of Obamacare hasn't hit yet...wait until people with the high-deductibles plans find out they STILL can't afford healthcare even while they are paying for insurance.

Not to mention what happens when the IRS starts prosecuting people for not buying into the program.

Going to be a nightmare...wouldn't want to be a Democrat then.

So you would rather that the politicians make enormous profits from healthcare than war? Maybe the healthcare industry can be our next financial bubble. The problem with this gubmint is that their greed has exceeded common sense. And the entitlement group has pushed for more gubmental control. An industry that makes up 1/6th of our economy should never be a pawn by either the likes of you nor the politicos, and that is exactly what has happened. This whole ACA BS is literally effecting EVERYONE and you continue to support and make excuses. You're unbelievable crap.
