Mitt Romney: Campaign says gay teen bullying at prep school report 'exaggerated'

There are 421 comments on the news.nationalpost.com story from May 10, 2012, titled Mitt Romney: Campaign says gay teen bullying at prep school report 'exaggerated'. In it, news.nationalpost.com reports that:

As a high school senior at an elite all-boys boarding school, former governor Mitt Romney bullied a presumed gay teen, having his friends hold the boy down while he cut off his hair, the Washington Post reports. The incident was told to the newspaper independently by five students, one who said that Romney, the son of then-Michigan governor George Romney, had it out for a younger boy because of his long bleached-blond hair.

One day in 1965 Romney had his friends tackle the boy, named as the now-deceased John Lauber, while he repeatedly cut his hair with scissors. Lauber cried and repeatedly called for help during the incident, the report said.

“It happened very quickly, and to this day it troubles me,” Thomas Buford, a retired prosecutor, told the Washington Post.

The antigay try to claim these negative things of GAY and PRO-GAY persons, but miss the crucial element that destroys their logic: The gay and pro-gay are RESPONDING TO attacks, not INITIATING them. The victim of rape is not a sociopath; she is defending herself. It's the RAPIST who is the one with mental problems.

I guess the Washington Post is stuck with the five witnesses that saw what happened or were in the gang with Romney when Romney attacked the boy with scissors.
And poor Romney can't remember if it happened but if it did... he sure is sorry!
Valid points. But what is also striking is the ABSENCE of any investigative reporting on Obama by the Main-Stream Media.

Until the Internet gave voice to the downtrodden middle-class, the whole concept that FREE SPEECH existed in the US was a complete fairy tale.

There was free speech ONLY if the GATEKEEPERS in the communications mediums of newspapers, television, movies and for a long time radio, found what one had to say was helpful.

Helpful to whom, one might ask??? Well, since ALL the aforementioned venues of communication require SUBSTANTIAL CAPITAL, it follows that there was de facto control of the information flow by the wealthy. Those same venues of communication, with the exception of radio, OVERWHELMINGLY support Obama and since he has become President the middle-class has been screwed and the RICH have gotten RICHER.

What about Obama's drug use? Were the people involved questioned? Did he deal or was just a casual user? Where was he getting the money to pay for the drugs? And so on and so forth.

The MSM's silence on their past are a CLEAR INDICATION that he doing the bidding of the very wealthy.

You are correct; I am serious.
All the comments that have been made seem to point that the individual, John Lauber, was targeted because of his long blond hair.
And every place I go to get a haircut, the gay man in the room is the one holding the scissors.

But the REAL question is "Will Jimmy Carter be at the very bottom of the list with The Obamaniac right above him in second-to-worst place, or will it be the other way around ?"
Oh, there is no question that Baby Bush is at the bottom of the list.

Like gay marrage, bullying is just another diversion to draw attention away from the fact Obama has accomplished nothing constructive or benafical for America in almost 4 years.

Because he is decent enough to think that if he bullied anyone (we are guilty in one form or another) that he would feel bad and like to apologize. Is that a bad characteristic??? I don't get the logic.
If?

Let's see... if you were accused of holding someone down with scissors (along with a gang of others) and shearing off his hair, it seems to me no matter how long ago it was you would remember it or you would absolute refute it if that story was false.

And now we have a nice, fresh lie.

OK, let's put this to bed. How many Presidents do you think may have bullied someone when they were in high school? How about MOST OF THEM?
How 'bout proving any of them?

More to the point: what else is Romney lying about?

I am not a supporter of Mitt Romney but I have met him more than once. The adult Mitt Romney would not condone the bullying of anyone for any reason.
But the adult Mitt Romney is comfortable telling a brand new fresh lie if it suits his needs.

Putting aside Mitt doesn't know your name.

Romney was confronted with something in his past.

The question wasn't really if there is something he (we) have done in the past that he (we) are ashamed of, it is really what he (we) would do if he (we) could rewind the clock and do over.

What Romney said (and it should be said: he has FLAT OUT LIED ABOUT IT) is "if" he did it, it was just a practical joke, some hi jinx.

He did not say it was (and it is and was) shameful behavior.

You don't think I have to play along on this diversion away from the topic (Mitt bullying, and his lies about said bullying) do you?
