Make Obama decide how to deal with sequester

There are 46 comments on the www.washingtonpost.com story from Feb 25, 2013, titled Make Obama decide how to deal with sequester. In it, www.washingtonpost.com reports that:

The sequester solution

Barack Obama wants to blame Republicans for the looming across-the-board spending cuts that will take effect this week.

The problem with the sequester is not the amount of cuts it requires. Cuts of $85 billion this year is about 2 percent of our $3.5 trillion federal budget, or about nine days of federal spending. Even after the sequester, we will still spend about $15 billion more this year than we did in last year. The sequester does not actually “cut” spending — it simply slows its growth.

The president ALREADY HAS the Executive authority to direct the cuts.

He would do better to direct them into the districts of those who vote to keep down the taxes of the wealthy; cuts which will actualy and eventually be made up by tax increases to the middle class.

Congress must raise the debt limit.

It is the Republicans who demanded debt reduction in exchange for raising debt ceiling. Sequestration is the result of that GOP proposal.

That conservative party move in this nation is as rare as having the first black President. They came together. Wonder why?

POTUS knows what he is doing. Of course, the cuts could be rationally managed to reduce the impact but Obama will make Americans as miserable as possible purely to gain political advantage.

It's a "Progressive" thing. All politics All the time.

Maybe our Government should have passed a fiscally responsible budget 4 years ago instead of butchering healthcare reform.

There is supposed to be an annual budget for the federal govt, there has not been a budget bill passed since obama took power. Plenty of budgets were sent from the house to the senate, but were tables by harry reid at obamas demand.

Like most Americans, I very pleased with the way Obama is handling spending, taxing, and the difficulties attributable to the temporary GOP majority in the House.

So you're please with massive failures such as shovel ready, cash for clunkers, 17 green energy fiasco's,
his first term, when he racked up record budget deficits, we didn’t see much job creation. As a result, the number of people not in the labor force has grown rapidly, by more than seven times the number of jobs created. Most of the unemployed have gotten so discouraged that they have stopped searching for work.

Under The Obama there has never been a budget passed by the Dem majority Senate. His OWN Party isn't passing his Budgets.
