I think it's a great move. Who else should meet and talk, but the world's two greatest powers? And we aren't concerned with media bla bla about Ukraine, or the Russians poisoning an X-Spy. I certainly would hope our CIA would do the same to an X-Spy gone bad. Let the talks begin.

Yes, with an economy smaller than Canada, Italy, or South Korea, Dying Banana Republic Russia still dominates this Trump Presidency that flatters it by calling this wasteland ruled by a thug a "superpower".

I guess Canada just needs to build a few nukes and invade Greenland to steal territory from a peaceful neighbour, then we can be a "superpower" just like dying Russia and walk all over America too!

What fun this weakling Trumpmerica is!

Did Canada own Greenland previously? Did Greenland steal territory from Canada, previously? Because, if it did not, than the analogy is wrong!

No country should steel the land from another country! Ukraine should have never stolen Crimea from Russia!

But once Ukraine stole Crimea from Russia, it should not be surprised that Russia took it back! No country accepts the steeling of their terotory!

You are so typically stupid as a trumpflake, ignorant but confident in that ignorance. I quote from wikipedia.

"On 19 February 1954 the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union issued a decree transferring the Crimean Oblast from the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic to the Ukrainian SSR. The documents which are now housed at the State Archive of the Russian Federation (GARF) do confirm that the move was originally approved by the Presidium of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) on 25 January 1954, paving the way for the authorizing resolution of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union three weeks later.[1] According to the Soviet Constitution (article 18), the borders of a republic within the Soviet Union could not be re-drawn without the agreement of the republic in question. The transfer was approved by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union; however, according to article 33 of the constitution, the Presidium did not have the authority to do so. The constitutional change (articles 22 and 23) to accommodate the transfer was made several days after the decree issued by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet."

Too much nonsense talk about Russia taking land. It seems the kids in the Topix Forum don't realize Ukraine was historically part of Russia. And it was Russia, and no one else who bestowed independence of Ukraine. As for Crimea, It's always been part of Russia also.

Liar. That was Reagan hosting Osama bin Laden and the mujahedeen in the Oval Office.

This is the second time Trump's invited his Russian masters into the White House. Last time Russians were there Kislyak was informed by Trump before a television camera crew about Israel's operatives providing secret information to America regarding Russian activities in Syria.

Trump's a national security disaster. The skunk wasn't intending on telling anyone. Had the Russkies not sent a press release the US citizens would not know. The POS send Putin an invitation during that congratulatory phone call on Putin's sham election victory.

That's not an intelligent or civilized excuse. Putin annexed Ukraine because it's was a good example for the former Soviet Union states that Putin wouldn't delay to reclaim what he desired at his choosing. Beyond those small states Putin has no power anywhere else outside his back yard. Russia has been knocked off as a global threat. Putin's at best a regional war Lord.

Trump's Vladimir Putin's lap dog. The stupid communist POS invites Putin into the Oval Office after sanctioning an assassination in British territory and following the atrocities committed by Putin in Syria which are the bombing of red Cross relief centers and hospitals.

The power Putin and the oligarks have is money. They rob the people of Russia, of everything. The way it is in Russia is the way Trump and his kind want it in America. The Deplorables blithely follow along because they are foolish, suckers. We don't live in a Russia, America has a constitution but Republicans are tired of our constitution, they are tired of our democracy.

Exactly, in Russia the Cossacks fawn over Putin in the same way the mindless base idiots in the Republican party fawn over Trump.

There's how out of touch Trump is with the United States

" I am right about Amazon costing the United States Post Office massive amounts of money for being their Delivery Boy. Amazon should pay these costs (plus) and not have them bourne by the American Taxpayer. Many billions of dollars. P.O. leaders donít have a clue (or do they?)!"

Post Office Executives by a Republican law can't set rates to complete. Only Congress can adjust postal rates.

Republicans have sought to bankrupt postal service's for decades but it's the internet , and Amazon that has resurrected the post office and profitability, Republicans want to privatize postal services to get rid of the postal workers.

Russia's no a superpower.........ROFL

Putin's a regional warlord with a military, which is larger than his regional neighbors, who were once part of the Russian federation.

Definitely Russia is not equivalent to the United States. Physically or morally. The British and French are more lethal conventionally than Russia will ever be again. Russia sucks at the teet of China
