Lindsey Graham's approval of Kagan,s appointment as Supreme Justice causes me to wonder if he's lost his mind or is he about to get a big bonus check from some progressive group.

It comes down to this: Lindsey believes that we shouldn't politicize the court. If someone is a good lawyer/jurist with the requisite credentials, you should support them. Otherwise how could one ever expect a Democrat to vote for a conservative like Roberts or Alito?

The purpose of the senate review is to insure the nominee has a thorough understanding of the constitution, which Mr. Graham has sworn to protect. When questioned about limits on the federal governmentís power under the commerce clause Ms Kaganís reply was essentially that she doesnít believe there are any limitations. Other answers and writing testify to the fact that she donít believe there are any limitations on the power of the federal government. If a nominee does not understand that the constitution was written to limit the power of the federal government, than how can they be qualified as a Justice. If Mr. Graham, doesnít understand his roll or the constitution than he shouldnít be a Senator.
If all he is going to be is a rubber stamp we can replace him with one for a lot less that the salary we pay him.
