Pope John Paul I, since his first day as a Pope, started showing to have a tendency to change things and habits within the Church:
He refused to use the majestic plural;
He refused to be crowned during the first official ceremony;
He refused to wear the Papal Tiara (he had chosen to wear the Pallium);
He stated to be "open minded" about contraception for some conditions;
He didn't love the Opus Dei
I fear for Pope Francis because he's trying to change the church from centuries of corruption to the basics of what Jesus did in the bible. Jesus didn't have a banking account and said to give to the poor.
Here's the latest on Pope Francis firing Cardinals who were basically overseers of the Vatican Bank.

Your concerns are understandable. Let's hope that this time they realize we are watching more carefully.

President Obama couldn't even meet with the Pope without lying about what they discussed. It is pathetic. The President issued one statement about what was discussed, and the Pope issued his statement about what was discussed, and they are nothing alike. Now who would you believe, the Pope, or a man who has a reputation for lying? And why in God's name could he not tell the truth about that meeting? That has to be a sickness.

If he did embrace what the Pope stands for, he'd run out and get baptized Catholic.
Short of that, it just looks like a mutual admiration society.
(Did Obama do the submissive act of BOWING and KISSING the Pope's ring?)
The Pope is but one man who like Obama won an election. He is no God

The elitists made sure the church was infested with homosexual pedophiles. And the church was guilty of not outing them. Less then 2% of the priests were found to be gay. But the damage was done.

VATICAN CITY — President Barack Obama and the Vatican gave distinctly different accounts of the president’s audience with Pope Francis on Thursday, with Obama stressing their common ground on poverty and inequality but Vatican officials emphasizing sharp differences over Obama’s health care law which mandates contraception coverage.
The Vatican, in a statement shortly after the meeting, said discussions centered on questions of particular relevance for the church in the U.S.,‘‘such as the exercise of the rights to religious freedom, life and conscientious objection’’— issues that have fueled divisions between Obama and the church."

I feel sure Pope Francis supports many of Obama's aims, especially those regarding help for the poor and suffering. The pope is well liked by well over 70% of the American people, and the Republican obstructionists may find themselves in hot water if Obama gets the pope's backing.
HARDLY supporting Obama's aims, the catholic church has always been the embodiment of giving to the poor...it's been THIER aim for 2 centuries!
call me when the pope condones gay marriage and abortion...moron

So true. Looking back to 2008 and coming forward to 2014, not much has changed.

Francis is used to dealing with despots. I'm pretty sure the old Obama razz let dazzle wasn't anything he hadn't seen in Argentina.

I agree that the Catholic Church has done much for the poor. But rarely has a pope emphasized that fact, instead being preoccupied with with such bullshit as gay marriage, etc.
This pope has actually made a priority of sending the message of helping the poor and needy, which happens to favor Obama's efforts, and drive the Republicans nuts.
