Chalk one up for sanity, temporary though it may be. The ascent of the muslim brotherhood to power in Egypt helped turned Syria into a boiling pot. Now that Egypt is back to square one, it's time for the US to chalk Syria up to ineptitude and do what it can to turn the pot on to simmer, instead of stoking the fires.

Our interventionists remind me of the Asiana pilot on a training flight into San Fran, with the airport's pilot guidance system taken off line during construction.

The Congress and the Senate are right to raise questions concerning delivering weapons to the Free Syrian Army. Recently an Arab television channel showed that Al Nursa Front aka Al Qaeda actual bought weapons from the Free Syrian Army! The USA would be sending weapons that one day would be used against its own people and Westerners. How stupid is the White House, Even the UK and France has not delivered any weapons to the rebels and its unlikely to do so against the hostile reaction of its own People

Billions of $ in direct aid to the rebels from Qatar and S.A. in the last two years and we know that much of that goes to the more extreme elements. They can easily buy a lot of US firepower with that. The CIA might as well just hand them out to al Nusra directly. Who knows? It might just turn 0.0001-0.0002% of them into progressive democrats.
