Republican John Cooper: 4,314 (57.21%)

Democrat Steve Rockwell: 3,227 votes (42.79%)

Lets see ... cooper won by 1087 votes
now lets subtract your "dozens" of uncounted absentee votes, you didnt say how many dozens (nor did you provide a source) but lets assume say 3 dozen. That's 36 votes.. now lets assume (as unlikely as it is) that Rockwell got 100% of those votes.
1087-36=1051

This new law performed just exactly like I said it would. It dis-enfranchised legitimate voters. Every vote is too valuable to throw away.

This wont last. Its unconstitutional. Thats what it is.

I'm curious. Who did this law disenfranchise? Yes, every vote is very important, I agree. But exactly who are those who are not able to vote?

They should have followed the procedure that was provided to them in the absentee ballot packet.

That's quite a leap to make to state that it "dis-enfranchised legitimate voters". On what do you base their legitimacy?

They disenfranchised those legitimate voters that cast absentee voters. This special election was a low voter turnout election. But that wont be the case in the midterm election next November.

There was already a lawsuit filed against the law before the election. Now there will be more.

According to the news story, only 83 votes were deemed provisional because the voters did not include ID that the new law requires.

Even if all 83 votes went to Rockwell, he still would have lost.

The issue isn't "legitimate" voters, however that is defined. The issue is "qualified" voters. One of the qualifications for voters in Arkansas is that they provide ID.

As I've stated many times on the other thread, this is a non-issue. Idiot liberal fuctards like Disclaimer just want to whine like little bitches.

The effort to disenfranchise voters in this special election was bad enough. But throwing away absentee votes cast by active duty military members in the war theatre in future elections will be the penacle of the Republicans effort to supress voters.

That wont be tolerated.

well you said "disenfranchised voters" that would imply that an eligible voter was denied the right to vote. So where is the proof that these "disenfranchised voters" were indeed eligible to vote?
