All the violence will not tarnish the legal facts:

1) Baker v. Nelson was a Minnesota case

2) The Minnesota Supreme Court just upheld Baker

This is how homosexuals escaped the DSM--political violence and political buggery.

Psychiatry, which just updated the DSM, also is admitting it is only a quasi-science and that the DSM itself will be discarded as the brain is mapped.

Both law and science will condemn homosexuality forever.

Do you have a court case that shows that the Minnesota Supreme Court has upheld Baker vs Nelson again?

Baker is completely irrelevant to the legislature doing its job!

So now you object to the "let the people decide" mantra?

Geez.

I'm loving what this must be doing to all those people who come on here insisting the Baker Decision is Federal Law!

These LOONS are so funny.

They object if a Judge says Baker is FOS then have hissy fits when the State decides to repeal Baker! When it's a judge's decision they whine that he/she is an activist judge and they want a vote. Then when they GET a vote they want to run to judges to overturn it!

We won 75-59--seven votes to spare! Looking good for MN to become the twelfth state on Monday.

Looks like CA will be #13. Then NJ will be #14 this year. IL will be #15 in 2014.

How crucial it was to prevent the constituional bans from passing last fall.

I'm so proud of my home state.

We can only hope to be #13.......but my guess is more like #15 or up.......seems that the proponents of Prop 8 are not going to take any ruling from SCOTUS as a hint to let this issue go!!!

What does that mean? If SCOTUS rules in our favor--or doesn't rule at all--it's over for the proponent of Prop 8. It's our side that won't take the wrong answer from SCOTUS. It would be back to the ballot box for a win, along with OR. So tie for #15. Or maybe HI and NM will intervene.

You definitely should be proud--especially since you didn't give very good odds going into the election.

Me? I credit President Obama for ALL FOUR wins. But especially Maryland.

I heard from the Prop 8 guy Andy Pugno that if they get kicked to the curb for the Standing issue or just dismissed period, they plan on renewing their attack on another angel.......so, it may mean a trip back to the ballot box.

I don't think they get another bite at the apple. But if they do, judges aren't going to stay the decision until it reaches SCOTUS.

I'm not sure what they have planned up their sleeves, but somehow I believe they are going to try and delay some more.....we will have to wait and see!!!

If Minnesota can pass their Marriage Equality Act on Monday, bye bye to Baker for Good!!!!

I was happily surprised by the vote, and my family all voting against it as well. I wasn't sure how my parents were going to vote- they're old catholics- but I reminded them just before the vote that they also had a grandson who would like to marry in Minnesota one day just like all their granddaughters are doing.

But yes, I credit the President with changing a lot of minds as well.
