I agree. The only reason TransCanada wants to cross the U.S. is because they believe U.S. politicians are easily fooled.

"It's about forcing our politicians to stand on the side of the people and stand up to Big Oil. It's about testing whether President Obama can live up to his rhetoric and help "end the tyranny of oil" and address the climate crisis."

It is all about being anti-oil.

Getting fed up with people whose whole platform is irrational hate.

Congress is going to vote to tweak the new budget when they return in January so that cuts in veterans benefits will be taken out. Hope Obama is still happy about that.
What's funny is Obama acts like he had something to do with Congress deciding to act on their own without him.
Hmmm. Let's see. The Republican controlled House of Representatives cut veteran and military retiree pension benefits and you somehow want to blame it on Obama. Do you realize how illogical that sounds?

Projected cost keeps rising while revenues that suppose to help pay for it keeps decreasing as can be seen in the latest report.

Catch up. The Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 imposed a 60-month time limit on federally funded assistance for most families.

In California, there is a 24-month time limit for aid.

Obama had nothing to do with it. Democrats are distancing themselves from him because of Obamacare. Republicans were proven right about Obamacare and the country is turning against this president because of his signature law.

Obama is pretty much out of the picture. He's basically on his own.

A review of environmental risks of tar sand crude by the Alberta government found-
that dilbit is not corrosive at pipeline temperatures of as much as 65 degrees Celsius, although it is highly corrosive at refinery temperatures above 100 degrees C. Nor is the fine sand that remains in some of the dilbit eroding pipelines, though it does form sludges that must be cleaned. The higher temperature operation may even kill off the bacteria that help to corrode pipelines carrying other types of oil.

Now that Democrats are distancing themselves from this president and he's no longer demonizing Republicans at every opportunity, it almost looks like we're a two-party system again. Funny how things seem better when he's not in the middle of everything, centering everything around himself and stirring up trouble.

So, you don't consider a cost-of-living adjustment a benefit? Interesting. However, I do believe too much is being made of it. It's a 1% cut in the cost of living adjustment for those under 62. What is that...$20 a month? What I find disgraceful is an increase of $31 BILLION in an already bloated military budget. It's inexcusable.

But, Obama hired Podesta to stir up trouble.

However, Podesta's Jonestown comment was viewed by the press as over the top today and he had to send Jay out to apologize

I don't blame Obama for anything related to the budget. He reads about these things in the news.

The majority of House Republicans took into account that personnel costs have risen 40% per service member since 2001 and both sides had once agreed with former Secretary Gates that those costs were “eating us alive".

John McCain, like him or not, argued that a retired sergeant first class of the Army would receive about $1.626 million in lifetime retirement pay instead of $1.734 million.

It became clear that it was more heartless than helpful in passing a budget.

Common ground was found, and Murray is joining Senate Republicans to offer a fix exempting disabled veterans and survivors from the cost-of-living adjustments after passage of the bill.

Senate Republicans were the ones who resisted. A number of House Republicans did as well.

Obama is just worrying about the fallout that's coming next year.
