Don't know if "he personally had al Qaeda on the run" but his drone program and the killing of Osama bin laden seem impressive.
Well, that was his claim.

And for him to take all the credit for the hard work that went into finding bin Laden over a five year time span - which Obama had absolutely nothing to do with - and coming off the golf course just in time to see the Seals raid bin Laden's compound after doing what any president would have done and giving them the go ahead was nothing but disgraceful.

I don't-my father in law does-funny thing though his property taxes are now more than he paid for his house 40 some years ago. How can that be? only because of big government in a small town. I don't think anyone should retire or live in Illinois. It is never going to be a viable state. I predict it will be the first state to declare bankruptcy.

<quoted text>One easy way to solve this 'problem' is repeal CitizensUnited and end citizens' political action groups from applying for 501(c)(4) status. The I.R.S. won't have to 'close exam' these groups and individual citizens will be given back their private right to donate to political groups that they want to without being pressured by them through 'raise the money' solicitation e-mails and phone call pledge campaigns.
How do you propose to "repeal" a Supreme Court decision?

He was wrong and had to adjust my grade up- as it was an opinion paper- and so are you.
Can't answer the question?

Where are you on the death penalty?

I know why you can't answer, you already know it disqualifies you as "pro-life" and you become the more accurate "anti-choice".

Sht like that sticks in the craw of "less government" Republicans, just another reminder that their entire platform is a sham.

This is Flack b;laming the Democrats for the Bush recession.
Signed into Law May25th.
Went into effect July 26th.
That .70 cents an hour raise.
less than two months later Bush tells us we are on the verge of a financial meltdown & the worst recession in 80 years starts in December.
Yep that minimum wage did it.
Nor the unfunded Bush Tax cuts
Not record Earmarks
Not doubling the debt
Not two quagmire unfunded wars
Not the unfunded part D expansion to Medicare.
It was that GD .70 cents an hour raise to the minimum wage.
That was the second one numbnuts. Yes a lot of poor people who were just barely holding on lost their jobs. Some of those jobs were helping to pay the bills. It's simple math. If mom and pop have three employees and wages go up they have to let some one go or cut their own standard of living. Which do you think is going to happen.

By the way the government benefits far more from a wage increase than does any individual. Don't forget the unions either.

Seriously? You can't see that if Obama had admitted to a terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11 after announcing to everyone on the campaign trail he personally had al Qaeda on the run because he killed bin Laden that he wouldn't look ridiculous just weeks before the election?
He just looked ridiculous instead after the election because everyone knew he lied to win the election.
That makes a lot of people angry - reasonable people.
Now there is proof that Hillary Clinton's goal was to establish a permanent fixture of Americans in Libya. Chris Stevens was there to make that happen. Clinton lied, Stevens died.

"Big government" refers to intrusiveness and scope and applies at the federal, state, and local level.

The ratio of Republicans to Democrats who supported F&F and were on their payroll is miniscule in comparison.
It was a Republican Congressional hearing in 2004 that tried to rein in F&F. Every single Democrat was outraged.
An attempt at another tax cut which worked the first time was too late the second time when the house of cards had already collapsed.
still doesn't explain how the democrats, who had no control over anything, somehow let Bush's buddies at F&F screw the pooch.

and yes, his buddies. Franklin Raines evidently had a free pass to the Oval Office.

"Abortion RIGHTS supporters" would be accurate. Not many people are real supportive of the act of having an abortion, most view it as a trauma.
I'm not necessarily like them, I'm all for voluntary abortion and even voluntary sterilization. As long as there's no coercion involved I think most people who seek an abortion are providing a public service and are looking out for the best interests of an unwanted child.
Those who earn their living providing abortions are "abortion supporters."

Galt agrees with you about the benefits of abortion, but more from the viewpoint of the benefit to society rather than the best interests of the child.

Same reason they'd be charged if someone physically forced a woman to have an abortion.

so carol...when did you become a liberal?
The percentage of people who consider birth control the same as abortion is more than likely in the one to low two-digit range.

Even devout Catholics use birth control.

Hope that's not the best argument you have.

Do they actually require purchase of a city sticker to park in your own drive or garage?
Incredible!
Yep-if you have any pick-up truck or van. You cannot EVER park on the street. But you have to have a city sticker at the cost of 65 dollars to park in your garage or drive. They have other crazy laws too: G-d forbid if your vehicle needs washed...Outdoor water restrictions are in effect from May 15 through September 15. Residents may use water outdoors only on even or odd-numbered calendar days, corresponding with the last digit of their house number. Zero is considered an even number. Outdoor water use includes use on lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs and for washing vehicles.

Supreme Court Guts The Voting Rights Act
The decision frees up those jurisdictions to change their voting laws without supervision. But the federal government still has the power to target a voting law in court, after it is passed, if it is suspected of having a discriminatory effect on a particular racial group.

now it's just a matter of which southern state gets hit with a federal lawsuit.
Sounds like you advocate targeting southern states, just as the IRS targeted conservative groups.

Intrusive government is intrusive government.
So, Galt is considering anarchism as the best option. You do know that Big Corporations and large too-big-to-fail Wall Street Banks will have to be broken down too. The conservative Chicago School of laissez-faire Economics led by Milton Friedman and Friedrich Hayek once proposed a socialist solution to the too-big-to-fail dilemma of faulty big banks and corporations--nationalize them and protect the rest of the free market for the other independent smaller businesses competing fairly within the law.

There is no reason why Illinois should not have a healthy economy, except for the City of Chicago sucking the state dry.
