The debate was a rabble and in all honesty god help us all if these two are the second best and brightest minds available for VP.

In one corner we had a grumpy old man who lost the place on countless occasions and acted with no class or dignity. Stupid smirks he came across unhinged and in terms of Begazhi and other foreign policy issues. His tone was alarming and facts were alarming to say the least.

Ryan in regards to foreign policy was far more credible however his specialist subject the economy he was rather more sketchy. Some of what he said like Biden made sense but again just like Biden much of it was extremely thin on the facts or at least accurate ones.

On the moderator many will say she had a good night but from my perspective she allowed Biden to waffle on and even retort Ryans remarks while she cut off Ryan and often rudely cut him off.

One side not On demeanour. Biden came out angry and demonstrative but at who? The debate wasn't even started and he was pointing his finger at the moderator. To me that showed a total disrespect and surely amongst women it would have played very poorly!

All in all both men were a massive disappointment I only hope there are better minds around to take America forward.

The economy

Reality 101

Many have a poor understanding of a depression.
and more important - recovery.

Once upon a time...

1929 Black Friday - Stock Market crash
1930 - 1932 - Great Depression begins
1932 - 1940 - FDR elected (4x) creates SS and many govt aid programs to put nation to work
1941 - 1945 - WWII USA emerges as most powerful nation on planet - war economy booms
1946 - beginning of the'good times'

Do the arithmetic

16 years to correct and it took a world war.

Regardless of whom occupies the White House
It will take a generation to correct if even then.

Left with a surplus. Bush & Co. Started two illegal wars, and in 8 painful years destroyed the USA economy.

Ironically this really not their fault.
We only imagine

I understand you are ignorant of how government works in the United States. Here, Congress controls all revenue and spending. The president cannot invent spending programs... yet. If you want to see what the Democrat-controlled Congress spent money on, just look at the budgets they passed.
Then....
How about you just look up the stats, dupe.
The Democrats took full control of all the purse strings of government in January, 2007. The deficit before the Democrats sent our government insane was 0.16 (that's zero point one six) trillion dollars. What is it now? Did you say 2.4 trillion dollars? Did you say the Democrats increased the deficit by ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED PERCENT?
What was the deficit when the Democrats took over all the purse strings of government in January, 2007? Did you say 5 trillion dollars?
What did the Democrats to with that 5 trillion dollar debt? Did you say they more than tripled it? Did you say they drove it up to 16 trillion dollars?

The rest of the world emerged from the economic collapse of '29 in the early '30s. It was only the United States that remained stagnant and strangled by a depression. The sole reason the United States emerged from the Great Depression was because Europe devolved into war. If Europe had been able to solve its problems without a war, then the United States would have remained in a depression at least until FDR died, and probably many years after that would be required to undo all that was done by the Democrats of that era to create the situation where the United States was the only country in the industrialized world that was a victim of a stagnant economy.

Yes. But, one point of reality was made. Where's the money going to come from to fund the Democrats' Marxist hippy pipe dream?
Biden had an answer for everything, factual or not, except where the goddam money is going to come from to support the Democrats'(lack of a) plan.
I was surprised the fact that our government hasn't been able to generate a budget since Obama took office wasn't pointed out. That, by itself, is the most damning piece of evidence that our government is disfunctional and doomed under this administration.
But, that might be in accordance with the Democrats' plan.
If the government goes broke, then the Democrats will promote the logic that the government needs to take control of everything... which is what they want most - total government control of everything and everyone.

Perhaps you have the answer that never emerged during the debate.

Where's the money going to come from to fund the Democrats' Marxist hippy pipe dream?

Biden told us Obama was going to take 716 billion dollars from Medicare, then said everyone would continue to receive everything they get today.
That is an impossibility.

Ryan pointed out that even if you took 100 percent of the earnings of who the Democrats call "rich" there still wouldn't be enough money to pay for what the Democrats are promising.

So, where will the money come from?

I agree

FDR & Lincoln vary for 'best president'.

Let us not forget... Democrats were in office 20 years 1932 -1952

Comes down to one thing to vote for. Vote for Mitt if you believe if the rich needs more breaks to make the middle class better or Vote Obama if you believe that the middle class is the growth of America and the rich have the money to pay the bills and aren't doing it.
.
1990s taxes were raised the middle class made gains.
2000s taxes were lowered the rich gained and America fell into the worst down turn since 1929.
In 2011 their were two major records broken.
1. The top 400 richest people in America set an all time record of $1.7 trillion combined wealth.
2. Exxon made more profit in one year then ANY company EVER in world history.
Doesn't seem like taxes are "killing" them.

Biden threw the State Department under the bus... go figure.

Biden told us that the resson Obama lied for two weeks about the Libya terrorist attack was because the State Department told Obama that there was a protest over some video the Arab world didn't even know existed outside the consulate that got out of hand.

Who believes this?

Then, after saying that same incompetent State Department "will know" when Iran is about to build a bomb.

I've got a question for Biden:

Do you listen to yourself?

You have summed it up very accurately and I think what you feel is exactly how those who have not made ip their minds about who to vote for feel.

From my perspective, Biden's rhetoric does not match what we have seen from Obama for the last four years. Like Obama, he is making lofty promises, only now they no longer use the words Hope & Change.

I think the debate was too close too call on content, but Biden undid any advantage he had with his obnoxious demeaner and outright rudeness. At times, Biden seemed to go off the deep end.

Paul Ryan claimed President Obama took two weeks to acknowledge the September 11 attack on the Benghazi consulate was conducted by terrorists rather than protesters.
This is false White House spokesman Jim Carney said at the September 20 White House news briefing that the incident was a terrorist attack.
The President himself, speaking on Late Night with David Letterman on September 18, a week after the attack, said terrorists and extremists had attacked U.S. diplomatic installations in Lyba and elsewhere. Ryan caught in another lie.

Vice President Joseph Biden Jr. would not sit still for a parade of misleading and often blatantly untruthful descriptions of the state of the economy and the Republican prescriptions for it.[...] Mr. Ryan’s performance on foreign affairs and military issues was at best disingenuous and at worst bumbling.
