I agree too that the MSM uses tracking polls to influence voter turnout.

Fox doesn't do a lot of national polling. NBC, CNN, CBS and ABC does a lot of them.
You have to look at who's doing the polling.
Google this: "Why Are So Many Pollsters Oversampling Democrats?"

Pew has been guilty of this since at least '88.

Obama Leads in Poll of Swing States
A new Purple Strategies poll of 12 swing states shows President Obama with a lead of 49% to 44% over Mitt Romney. In August, the same poll had Romney ahead by 1%, so this is a sharp swing towards Obama. Part of Romney's problem is that only 38% of the voters see him in a favorable light vs. 52% who regard him unfavorably. Obama's favorability is above water with 49% to 46%.

This is truly the year of the poll but it is also the premier year of voter demographics. With the advent of social networks, people are being poked, prodded and studied like never before and, strangely, they don't even know it's happening in most cases.

Social network users are so careless and open about themselves that those networks have become an open lab experiment on human behavior and motivation. People on Twitter and Facebook are excited to post about their experience of toilet tissue ripping during their finger wipes or where they buy their sanitary napkins. It's crazy bizarre.

Anyways, I have listened to and read about demographers who tally and record social network data. Weird stuff, I'll tell ya. For example, network users tend to vote according to the preferences of fellow users!! Say carol votes for Obama and I chat with her all the time on Facebook. Well, I'm very likely to vote like carol does.

This sort of group think is bizarre and frightening. We are quickly becoming Socialist Slime that moves en masse as one big clue blob of stupidity. King Obama loves it.

LMAO yeah probably but I still would like to know why would I vote for someone who is going to raise taxes for me. I'm a single parent and I have enough on my plate as it is and yet he is going to lower tax rates for the rich I believe that is twisted. Also Romney just doesn't seem to think middle class or poor people work hard to just earn enough to support ourselves.
Romney is all about saving the middle class. He's about reforming the tax code so the rich will have to pay their fair share by closing the loopholes - which Obama completely ignores. You can't raise taxes on the rich enough to make any difference in this debt because the government is spending it faster than they can take it it.

You are a very mixed up woman if you don't think when Obamacare kicks in after 2014 your taxes aren't going to go up too.

The Federal Government getting larger and larger is making people smaller and smaller.

Mia Love, a black Republican mayor, said that tonight. It was an excellent analogy.

Romney is about restoring states' rights to diminish the size of the Federal Government as well.

So please stop with the nonsense about Romney not caring about the middle class. Obama wants one class to fit all sizes. There won't be anyone left to save us because the wealthy will be picked up and gone somewhere else.

Tenzing has a big stick he uses to muddy the water. It is his modus operandi.
Or haven't you noticed?
If one were to take the time(wasted time, admittedly) and set side-by-side, say, a hundred posts and Tenzing's replies to them, the pattern would become crystal clear. Never has he ever replied directly to any post on Topix.
He would be an excellent coffin salesman at your local funeral home. He's make a killing.

I personally do not endorse FNC poll as being conservative as it is done by an independent pollster.

It is the methodology used in the polls.

Reuters for example takes a raw poll and does not adjust so you get D+13 and independents and republicans under sample. Truly reflective -no. Not sure of the value of such polls.

The other method is to sample a bunch of people and weight the numbers. This can get political and manipulative real fast. We have seen a bunch of polls weighting D at +8 or +9 which is in greater numbers than in 2008 when enthusiasm was high for Obama.

In the end the polls are the polls. I watch the tracking polls as it best indicates any changes as these have been running since April. So far no movement.

Who does know the numbers are the candidates as they have more precise methods than the posters. They know. Us, we have to wait.

How is Romney going to do that? I'm pretty sure that Obama said that he would create jobs too, but I believe that he wasn't anticipating how hard it was going to be to create those jobs.
He's going to accomplish it by "doing better" 'cause he "gets it".

How specific do you want him to be? All ya have to do is remove the yoke of "big government" and those jobs will just appear!

Duh!
