Romney: US should be more assertive on world stage

Oct 7, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Athens Banner-Herald

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is proposing the U.S. take a more assertive role in Syria, put conditions on aid to Egypt and tighten sanctions on Iran as he looks to use a planned foreign policy address to paint President Barack Obama as a weak leader who has limited America's influence on global affairs.

The guy (Mitt Romney) who was pro-Vietnam, yet went to France to avoid the draft… who has 5 sons – none of which joined the military – is all for asserting this nation’s sons and daughters into country after country; conflict after conflict.

Assertive is one thing, but having it manifest by the Obama complicit media is another...

A lot is being said in the 'Pravda' media about Mitt Romney not being "likable" or that he doesn't "relate well" to people. Frankly, we struggled to understand why. So after much research, we have come up with a Top Ten List to explain this "unlikablility."

Top Ten Reasons To Dislike Mitt Romney:

1. Drop-dead, collar-ad handsome with gracious, statesmanlike aura. Looks like every central casting's #1 choice for Commander-in-Chief.

2. Been married to ONE woman his entire life, and has been faithful to her, including through her bouts with breast cancer and MS.

3. No scandals or skeletons in his closet.(How boring is that?)

4. Can't speak in a fake, southern, "black preacher voice" when necessary.

5. Highly intelligent. Graduated cum laude from both Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School ... and, by the way, his academic records are NOT sealed.

6. Doesn't smoke or drink alcohol, and has never done drugs, not even in the counter-culture age when he went to college. Too square for today's America ?

7. Represents an America of "yesterday", where people believed in God, went to Church, didn't screw around, worked hard, and became a SUCCESS!

8. Has a family of five great sons... and none of them have police records or are in drug rehab. But of course, they were raised by a stay-at-home mom, and that "choice" deserves America 's scorn.

9. Oh yes... he's a MORMON. We need to be very afraid of that very strange religion that teaches its members to be clean-living, patriotic, fiscally conservative, charitable, self-reliant, and honest.

10. And one more point... pundits say because of his wealth, he can't relate to ordinary Americans. I guess that's because he made that money HIMSELF... as opposed to marrying it or inheriting it from Dad.

Apparently, he didn't understand that actually working at a job and earning your own money made you unrelatable to Americans. My goodness, it's a strange world, isn't it?

Part Deux......Mitt Romney continued.

Working Background:
After high school, he spent 30 months in France as a Mormon missionary.
After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan bar exam, but never worked as an attorney.
In 1984, he co-founded Bain Capital a private equity investment firm, one of the largest such firms in the United States.
In 1994, he ran for Senator of Massachusetts and lost to Ted Kennedy.
He was President and CEO of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
In 2002, he was elected Governor of the State of Massachusetts where he eliminated a 1.5 billion deficit.

Some Interesting Facts about Romney:
Bain Capital, starting with one small office supply store in Massachusetts, turned it into Staples; now over 2,000 stores employing 90,000 people.
Bain Capital also worked to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies like Domino's, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather, Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot Supply and many others.
He was an unpaid volunteer campaign worker for his dad's gubernatorial campaign 1 year.
He was an unpaid intern in his dad's governor's office for eight years.
He was an unpaid bishop and state president of his church for ten years.
He was an unpaid President of the Salt Lake Olympic Committee for three years.
He took no salary and was the unpaid Governor of Massachusetts for four years.
He gave his entire inheritance from his father to charity.

Mitt Romney is one of the wealthiest self-made men in our country but has given more back to its citizens in terms of money, service and time than most men.
And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity, almost 19% of his income. Just for comparison purposes, Obama gave 1% and Joe Biden gave $300 or .0013%.

Mitt Romney is Trustworthy:

He will show us his birth certificate

He will show us his high school and college transcripts.

He will show us his social security card.

He will show us his law degree.

He will show us his draft notice.

He will show us his medical records.

He will show us his income tax records.

He will show us he has nothing to hide.

Mitt Romney's background, experience and trustworthiness show him to be a great leader and an excellent citizen for President of the United States.

You may think that Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected. At least I know what religion he is, and that he won't desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers, or practice fiscal irresponsibility. I know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the current regime has gotten us into. We won't like all the
things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone with Romney's background can do it. But, on the minus side, he never was a "Community Organizer", never took drugs or smoked pot, never got drunk, did not associate with communists or terrorists, nor did he attend a church whose pastor called for God to damn the US.

Romney needs to mention protecting Americans while they serve in UNSTABLE regions of the world.

Let soldiers PROTECT themselves-no restrictions on when to fire their weapons -do you want dead soldiers or do you want soldiers to return home to America?

Give protection to diplomats serving in ravaged countries. Don't RELY on newly minted forces in UNSTABLE countries as Obama did in Libya. We don't want another raped and murdered ambassador and 3 other Americans.

Obama's actions in BENGHAZI are easily impeachable.
He gave aide and comfort to the enemy by blaming other people and letting the terrorists escape.
I'd say that was pretty close to treason. Wouldn't you?

It gets even worse! Google romney-mel sembler and see what comes up. sembler is a fundraiser for mittwit and operated a chain of 'treatment' centers where kids were raped, abused and tortured. They were ultimately shut down after dozens of lawsuits by parents and victims. He is also close to a person named litchfield who was a serial child abuser. These are the type of people mittwit associates with!

It has already started. People happen to be waiting for the one event where the talking heads come out and say that is it. However, the war has already begun.

The US is fighting in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Sudan, Libya. We are funding and arming terrorists in Egypt, Iran, Syria and Tunis.

The US, EU, India, and China are in the middle of currency war and trade war (which happens to always be the start prior to a world war).

WW3 has already begun.

There are mass riots and protests all over the world and the people are revolting against the despot governments. In Bahrain the Amir has killed thousands of his own people from these mass protests but since the US 5th Fleet is stationed there, the people in the US get silence. Spain had over 1M people protest in Madrid last week against auesterity payments to bankers. Greece has been in riots and protests over the exact same thing.

People need to wake up and see what is happening right in front of their eyes. It has already begun.

It matters who you surround yourself with as a Republican Candidate- but not as a Democrat Candidate, right?

Obama associated with a known, unapologetic terrorist from the Weather Underground- who wrote and op-ed in the NYT the week after 9-11 that he wished he had done more bombings.

Oh, so Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn weren't convicted... but Susan Rosenberg and Linda Evand were for multiple acts of terrorism here in the US.

Neither was Mel Sembler. People in his organization were, and he shut it down in 1993.

Mitt Romney dismissed people from his Organization (Litchfield and others) after their indictments. Seems reasonable.

According to you it doesn't matter- really- who you associate with if the candidate agrees with you ideologically.

We don't agree on a lot, but I admire people who make these types of decisions. South American real estate is a great investment, and it is smart to consider retiring to a place where the cost of living is extremely low.

I would however, go armed to the teeth and be prepared to defend your home.

I agree. We live in an uncertain time. Whether you're far-right, Far-left or somewhere in between, you have to be prepared for the future. As the world moves closer to un-pegging oil from the dollar, and our government continues to print money to manipulate currencies- there's gonna be a reckoning. Just my opinion.

Land is a wise investment.

It's not exactly a war. It's mostly the United States trying to gain control of a part of the world that it thinks will benefit it.
