Cutting corporate taxes to REDUCE the deficit???

That's like cutting one's paycheck and believing one's debt will magically get reduced.

Sure, a few more people will get hired, but low-end taxpayers don't contribute anywhere near what the corporations pay!!

Obama offering the GRAND BARGAIN to big business.

So, in other words, Obama wants to balance the budget on the BACKS of workers !!!

Devil in the Details is correct.

What else does Obama want to tack on to the deal?

Other countries have less amount of tax on corporations, but America punishes US companies.

Let's face it. Either we're employed by the government-Federal, State or Local; or we work for a company or we have our own company.

stop the excess taxing of US companies when OTHER COUNTRIES tax companies at a lower rate.

Stop penalizing American companies. We've got to get our country moving. Taxing and Over regulating does NOT help the economy.

Obama should have moved earlier to get America moving. He was not a emperor, he needed to work with ALL elected officials, not just his party.

and anyway, do you get the impression that Obama is just focused on social issues rather than a broader involvment in economy, foreign affairs?

Obama is very UNinvolved president.

He was a neophyte when elected and still distances himself through a hands off policy. It's the:

You guys make the decisions. I'm going back to bed, or I'm going golfing or I'm flying off for another speech.

Obama needs the teleprompter. But then again, who the hell is listening to him anymore? It's only a small segment of the population. His droning on and on has DEsensitized Americans to his speeches

Doesn't work anymore.

I donít get the thinking of this new grade of Republicans. We have to accept the fact that President Obama won, the same way he has accepted that we control the House; and we have to be willing to compromise for the good of the nation. The President has introduced Republican ideas in his offer for a grand bargain, but Republicans have said no. Itís like when posed with the question at a debate a few years back would we take $10 in cuts for every $1 in tax increase, and every candidate on that stage said no. I donít agree with everything the President wants to do but I hate the way my Party is willing to hurt the nation to try a score points against Obama. In the end it will be Republicans that will suffer for their uncompromising position and election victories will be few and far between.

Cutting corporate taxes only enriches CEOs and increases our national debt.

This is the gridlock we get with divided government.

The only way things will change is when one party controls both the White House & Congress- with a supermajority in the Senate.

I say let one party have it all and pass whatever they want for 5 years; if the economy has SIGNIFICANTLY improved after 5 years, then the other party gets complete control and THEY can try all their ideas.

It's the only way to find out which philosophy works.

It reminds me of old school Wrestling...

Bad guy on the ropes down for the count...

All the sudden the bad guy sticks his hand out, as if to say, "I'm sorry, I don't want to fight anymore, Let's be frineds"

The good guy looks to the crowd for approval..

The crowd screams "No No" "Don't do it"

By know the bad guy his on his knees, begging and pleading, "Don't kick my ass"

The Good guy goes to shake his hand,

That's when the bad guy reaches into his tights to grab a pair of brass knuckles and knock the good guy out.

Moral to the story

Obama isn't an honest broker and nothing he said should be believed or trusted.

Corporations are not paying taxes and Obama wants to give them a 9% reduction. I guess that means every corporation gets 9% in cash up front. And it is hilarious the GOP, who watch Obama cave, can't accept Obama offering them everything they ever wanted. It's like finding Santa Claus coming out of your fireplace, giving you everything you ever asked for in your entire life, and having to reject it because he has soot on his face.

Let me guess. The jobs will be will be training to speak Chinese. That way the middle class will have a chance to keep their old job when it moves to China; at significantly reduced wages of course.

That is not exactly true because corporate taxes don't come out of profits or CEO pay. Corporations don't pay taxes, they just roll them into the cost of doing business and the consumer pays them. You are not taxing them you are taxing their customers.
