Yes, oil/gas companies should be free to charge whatever they want for their products, just like EVERY OTHER COMPANY does.
I you don't like the price, then don't buy the product.
Funny how you lefties, when called out, suddenly try to "out free market" the real free marketers.

Liberals flip-flop on the oil biz so often, it laughable. When gasoline prices were high under Bush, you were screaming it was all Bush and Cheney's fault, being that they were "oil men" who were giving the oil business everything they wanted. Well, Bush took steps to lower prices by opening up production. And prices did, indeed, fall.

When gasoline reaches even HIGHER prices under Obama, suddenly, it's because of the "free market", and oil companies should be able to charge whatever they want. Frankly, you are full of crap, and we know it.

There IS no "free market" when it comes to oil. Government meddling touches every single aspect of the business, from well site selection, to drilling, to distribution, to refining, to the finished product. And government meddling in the oil business has increased under President Obama. He promised us higher energy prices, and that is one of the only promises he's actually delivered on.

Government in the United State makes more money from a gallon of motor fuel, through taxation, than any other single entity involved in the entire oil production process.

Want to see gasoline prices fall by 50 to 75 cents, per gallon, immediately? Remove the taxes on it.

When gas was $1 a gallon how much did a brand new big rig cost?? How much does a big rig cost today?? You see all things go up in cost as time goes by...gas is finnally catching up with where it is in rest of the world..
So, explain to us, in detail, why high gasoline prices are a GOOD thing for the United States?

Folks making minimum wage at that part time job, because that's the only work they could find in this economy, want to know why President Obama wants half of their weekly take home pay to go into their gas tank.

Frankly, I'm anxious to hear that argument as well. I fully expect the explanation to be as humorous as President Obama's debate performance.

Did not say it was good....Just said it is a fact of lfie...ALL THINGS GO UP IN PRICE AS TIME GOES BY..........Minimum wage should be $20 an hour also...

Only way ever to lower gas prices down under $2 a gallon is by the government controling the price through law.....WE COULD HAVE OIL COMPANIES TAX FREE REGULATION FREE AND GAS WONT GO UNDER $3 A GALLON./........WAKE UP FOOL

Oh no, say it isn't so. Another that has been exposed to inferior cheap wine disquised as even more inferior expensive French Wines. Blind taste testing ALWAYS has picked Sonoma and Napa wines as far superior to the best that France has bottled. If French wines are selling at the same prices here as in France, there is a valid reason considering the cost of transportion to the United States. That reason being is that Americans would rather buy an cleaner American Wine than a questionable dirty French or Italian wine that is so overpriced the importers have to sell cheaper to have less knowledgeable so called wine experts to have something to brag about in their so called cellars. Geez, even Washington State has better wine than France.

Come down to earth, if the minimum wage is to low, why not raise it to $1,000.00 an hour ? Surely that would solve all the poverty issues ? Come on, explain why it would not work or would work. Give it your best shot !

Well CEO,s and top execs and high paid office people have seen there wages go up factoring in inflation about 300%....Workingclass people have seen with inflation there wages go down 20%.....

THAT IS WHY EITHER MINIMUM WAGES MUST GO UP OR TOP WAGES MUST COME DOWN TO DRIVE PRICES DOWN....OR MAKE SURE ALL CAN AFFORD STUFF..

And those few CEO's and top execs are doing what to earn that type of money ? And the millions of lower income people are doing what to earn their keep? You can take all the earnings of the CEO's and executives in the US and it would be a drop in the bucket as to what is needed to spur the economy and drop prices. That is not the problem!

So you believe that increasing the minimum wage does not impact on the price of goods and services ? Hint, paying more without an increase in productivity ALWAYS increases the prices of everything from widgets to cars to homes.

Nah, you don't. You believe the liberal lie that the oil business is "greedy", and that is why oil prices are high.

I've been self employed for a decade, in a primarily retail business. I compete against multi-million dollar corporations on a daily basis.

I have more knowledge of the free market in my little finger than you do in your entire body.
