Funny how you lefties, when called out, suddenly try to "out free market" the real free marketers.<quoted text>
Yes, oil/gas companies should be free to charge whatever they want for their products, just like EVERY OTHER COMPANY does.
I you don't like the price, then don't buy the product.
Liberals flip-flop on the oil biz so often, it laughable. When gasoline prices were high under Bush, you were screaming it was all Bush and Cheney's fault, being that they were "oil men" who were giving the oil business everything they wanted. Well, Bush took steps to lower prices by opening up production. And prices did, indeed, fall.
When gasoline reaches even HIGHER prices under Obama, suddenly, it's because of the "free market", and oil companies should be able to charge whatever they want. Frankly, you are full of crap, and we know it.
There IS no "free market" when it comes to oil. Government meddling touches every single aspect of the business, from well site selection, to drilling, to distribution, to refining, to the finished product. And government meddling in the oil business has increased under President Obama. He promised us higher energy prices, and that is one of the only promises he's actually delivered on.
Government in the United State makes more money from a gallon of motor fuel, through taxation, than any other single entity involved in the entire oil production process.
Want to see gasoline prices fall by 50 to 75 cents, per gallon, immediately? Remove the taxes on it.
