I am not upset at all, just fun to watch them scramble, it is a losing proposition, but what else can they do? Their actual constituency is not enough people to get them elected.
This whole shutdown and threat to force our nation into default boils down to one thing… enough votes to get reelected.
But in winning the short side ( particular districts ) they are losing the big picture ( the nation )
Representative government representatives representing their constituency is funny?

It is kind of funny when I say it like that. YUK!YUK!YUK!

I am glad we have some check on the current administration's socialist ambitions. And you should be too. Two parties are better than one. It's a simple concept really.

We lost those checks and balances when the GOP passed a resolution no longer allowing anyone but the speaker to bring something to a vote, the house is now being held hostage by a minority. Fortunately we have the Senate and the POTUS to quash them.

I like checks and balances to, that is why I will never vote for a so-called "conservative" republican, as they are opposed to checks and balances.

<quoted text>Come on, if you wish to discuss this then be serious. You know as well as I, that we need a true third party. Not hard left, nor hard right. If congress can not find a way to accept that middle ground must be found, then nothing will change. Power shifts from side to side, every election cycle. As long as we have life long members of Congress controlling the power, nothing will change. Term limits on Congress and a third pary will make a change.
Look at this link, 30,40,50 almost 60 years in congress. Tell Me how much change can occur???
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_members_...
Would it be much different? who is to say a third party would not be corrupt? I agree we need term limits, but then if that's their career, is it fair to limit it? Do other jobs have limits? Power corrupts, from who ever is really running the country.

If Congress does not re-open the government. and raise the debt limit we may not be a 2 party system for very long.
My only criticism for Obama is why is he negotiating with them at all. They closed the government, they are threatening to crash our elderlies retirement accounts, call their bluff, If they commit suicide we win, if they cave in we win
Why negotiate with them at all, they put themselves in this stupid position, let them get themselves out of it.
None of those things are within the power of the president, they are all in the power of congress
or we have nuts like this that favor a one party system. Just as Obama is trying to accomplish by his childish games of not negotiating and blaming the other party. All the parks and Memorials were closed by Obama and yet this fool blames Congress. Guess what fool, the Government is NOT shut down, only 17% is shutdown. We should keep it this way. It shows the tea party is right, we don't need a bigger Government. Wait until the future when the democrats get upset and they shutdown your healthcare, food stamps, social security, and every other entitlement people of this country have become dependent on as a political stunt. if the monuments were backed by the "Occupy Wall Street" crowd who is openly backed by President Big Mouth and his followers - you know the Democrat Party - then the monument would have been graffitied, defaced, fecal matter thrown on it, maybe a lady mishandled in the cruelest way, a couple of murdered people and drug items left on it.

Tear down these Barry-cades. Believe it or not, Obama's popularity ratings are in the toilet. They're the lowest they've ever been, and I can tell you the reason. Obama made one critical error: His meanness came through. His inner Grinch came out. When he closed the National Mall to the World War II vets and, too, the Vietnam [memorial], it spread through the country like a prairie fire. Then he opened it up to the illegals and their supporters. The people hate him. They don't like what he's doing to this country. They don't like that he's shutting the government down. Never mind what the fools in the media are trying to tell you. The average person knows Obama is behind this. Oh, that's right, you are below average!

Only 17% is shutdown, who cares, are you still getting your stamps? It shows we are fine with a smaller Government, the Tea Party is right! It's not the first time it's taken place, quit crying, get in a food line. LOL

Although President Obama claims that he can’t avoid shutting down public sites and monuments, war memorials were in fact kept open during the 1995/1996 government shutdowns. The administration’s decision to barricade the Lincoln Memorial marks the first time in its history the memorial has been totally off limits to visitors during a shutdown.

The administration has also balked at efforts by non-governmental groups to maintain access to public sites.

Obama has more cops on duty keeping people out of the memorials than there are during normal operations. What I am saying boys and girls is that he is spending more money to keep them closed than when they are open.

If he "has no choice" Why could Clinton keep them open?

Hopefully congress will re-open them this week, Obama does not have that power, Congress does.

If you think Obama's numbers are down, take a look at the GOP numbers.

I suggest next time if they want to be taken seriously as terrorists they should threaten to fly a plane load of Tea Baggers into the ground if they don’t defund Obamacare....( chuckle )

The free stuff card system went down on the weekend so retailers couldn't access the freeloaders' accounts to see how much of our money was still on each moocher's card.

Some stores like the evil Walmart trusted these mooches to have money in their free stuff accounts and let them make purchases. Of course many of them didn't have much money or have a balance at all. The retailers get burned.

And the moral of this story is the moochers get even more free stuff. The hard working taxpayers get the shaft. Ah socialism!

I suggest you calm down and work together to end this. Proposing terrorism is the last thing we need. Do you really want to kill the other party? Is that your idea of the USA?
