I don't eat fast food, so I could not care less if they strike. I eat mostly organic, figured out what to delete and lost a total of 20 lbs. so far without trying.

Hey, here's an idea. Go to college, make something of yourself AND then you can make 15 bucks an hour. No offense to those who work in fast food, they are needed too! But come on let's be real-- why the hell would anyone pay someone 15 bucks to sale hamburgers? There are plenty of people wanting jobs, fire them! I can't believe there is a group of idiots this big that thinks they will be successful!

Why is it that these people feel that they are owed a living? There's no pride, no hard work ethic. They want want want. Stop the out of control multiplying I you should not be having kids if you can't afford them.
How about some laws that require these sperm donors who run around inpregnating these fertile tramps, to pay for their Spawn.
Most people here won't get what you're saying, but you bring up some points. Cooking fast food is an entry level job, unless you're part owner in the restraunt. Why should McDonalds pay an illiterate 17 year old girl with a kid $15 and an hour? Ronald isn't the baby's daddy. The sad truth is that the girl probably couldn't identify the dad from a lineup. These people make their own bad luck.

Mexicans who enter the U.S. illegally with no high school education or english language earn more than $7.25 an hour. Most earn more than $15 an hour. How some may ask? They're mowing grass or installing carpet for $30 an hour. The straight up truth is that illegal Mexicans are actually smarter and harder working than the typical fast food worker earning $7.25. My own personal opposition to illegal immigration is mostly political. However, I won't accuse them of being lazy or dumnb, not when they clearly out wit and out work half the adult population of the United States.

"The key to building wealth is establishing good habits of living below your means and saving.".(Richard Feight, a certified financial planner)

Can you live below your means on an $8 per hour job, at 40 hours per week, 20 hours per week. You do the math and see if that wage allows upward mobility. If not should the taxpayer help?(foodstamps, job training programs, income supplements via cash or tax 'incentives' and etc.)
Nothing is impossible for the man who doesn't have to do it himself. Could you get an education, or the skills needed for a $20 per hour job if you had to support yourself/family on $8 per hour?

Did the CEO's become what they are because they felt entitled to wealth they never helped create,no.
The opportunity is there for a person that wants to make 15 bucks an hour, they just have to work for it.

ask yourself a question, with all the middle class complaining about not having enough money like yourself,
1. do you really need to have i-phones, tablets, i-pods, etc?
2. do you really need to 40-52" inch flat screen tv's in your home?3. do you really need to have every station on cable?
4. do you really need to go out and buy/lease a new car every 3-4 years?
5. do you really need to go on "family" vacations that you can't afford just because it's vacation time?
and yes, if you can't afford to have children and give them a better life than the one you have now, you shouldn't have them...
You are ignoring the question, changing the subject. Take a look at this video about wealth inequity in America.

&fe ature=youtu.be

My biggest objection is to the lack of opportunity. The far right wants to claim that if you simply work hard, perhaps get a good education, you will be fine. I disagree. You can get all the eduction you can afford, or borrow to get and still not even get enough of a job to pay back the loans to go to college. I know many who have multiple advanced degrees with great experience and there are no jobs available.

What about starting your own business? All you need is for some rich guy to fund your operation. Create your business plan and they will flock to see who will invest. The problem is they want 95% or more of your business. It almost always happens that the rich get almost all of the fruit of the labor, but take almost none of the risk.

But let me answer your questions. I have multiple degrees and a job as a professional, earning a salary many would consider good.

1. I don't have any tablet or I-phone. I do have a cell phone as it is required by my job.

2. I don't have any 40 inch screen TV.

3. I get basic cable, and internet service, again required by my job for access at home. I don't get any premium channels. They gave them to me free for a trial, and I never watched anything so it is pointless to pay for it.

4. New car every 3-4 years? I have never done that in my life. Almost all of the cars I buy are a few years old, and I drive them till they fall apart and I call the junk dealer to haul them away. I usually get a hundred dollars or so.

5. Vacations? Dream on. I have taken few vacations ever in my life. I have saved up three months of vacation time because I never go on vacation. Maybe I can retire a few months earlier. I have never been out of the country. I have never been on a cruise. I have never been to Disney world, or any of the major theme parks.

As to affording children, after graduating from college I got a job teaching high school. Within a few months I realized I could not support a family on a teacher's salary, so I went back to school and got a degree in engineering so I could afford my family. It is obvious now that jobs in engineering are not stable.(My first company went under, the second went from 2200 engineers to 400 engineers, the third went under, the fourth had 18 layoffs in 15 years, the fifth has been searching for sufficient funding for 9 years.) You might get hired to work on a big project, but when the project is over, you need to find a new job. That is not stable enough to provide for children.

So your statement becomes, unless you are fabulously wealthy, you should not have children.

Do you have any clue of the ripple effect that it would create by making minimum wage $15? No, you don't. You haven't given it a single thought. Same with those demanding such an outrageous amount.
- Cost of goods will rise dramatically, and quickly
- Lay offs because sales won't support current staffing at double the pay. Many places will shutter their doors than pay, or because they can not support paying $15/hr... more lay offs
- Jobs which already pay higher hourly wages, ESPECIALLY the Unions, will demand higher pay. This will create more increase in cost of goods, and more lay offs
But ok for CEO to make 50 mill though right...In fact you think he should get raise I bet....HOW ABOUT THE TOP MAKE SOME CUTS FOR A CHANGE...FOR LAST 40 YEARS THE RICH AND TOP HAVE SEEN THERE WAGES GO UP 3000% WHY WORKERS WAGES HAVE WENT DOWN WITH INFLATION......How is this fair?

Today workers want a good wage simply for showing up.
The market bares 8.00 an hour for those people so thats what they get paid.
Hard work and determination will afford anyone to advance through the ranks in these types of jobs quickly, problem is they don't exercise that option.
Whens the last time you had a pleasant experience at McD's when dealing with anyone other than the manager?
9 out of 10 times you get poor service, cold food and the wrong order.
The manager spends most of his day apologizing for his staff and trying to get their job right for them.

Mexicans living in the U.S. illegally, cutting grass and installing carpet, are more upwardly mobile than Americans attempting to pursue a career at McDonalds. Mexican have got it figured out, learn an in-demand trade and capitalize on it. Mexicans are earning the income that many Americans are not willing to earn.

An the idiots raise their ugly heads again and again! These jobs are not meant to a life time
employment, and I sure don't want to pay $15 just
to let these nuts think they are worth these wages.
You want everyone working for fast food places, although Some that are in the government should and
might be qualified. A sick society...Look who is
running to take Obamas place......We can and must
do better.
