Student Banned from Returning to U.S. for Graduation

A star student, Elizabeth Olivas is scheduled to deliver Frankfort High School's Class of 2012 salutatorian speech Saturday, June 2, but she is stuck in Chihuahua, Mexico -- trapped by a technicality.

She was here illegally and had a chance at amnesty. All she had to do is return home by a predetermined time and apply to reenter legally. which she failed to do. That is not a technicality. If I fail to pay my bills or taxes on time there is a penalty. I fail to renew my driver’s license on time even by a day I will get a ticket if I am pulled over. Since she is supposed to be smart I assume she will learn a lesson from this. Even Hispanic illegal aliens have to follow the rules sometimes. It is a shame her parents have, by example, taught her that she does not have to follow the rules. Now because of their greed she will suffer.
