Chalk up another casualty in the Obama administration's attempts to staff federal agencies.

Jon Cannon, nominated to be the deputy director of the Environmental Protection Agency, pulled his name from consideration today, citing questions over a non-profit where he once sat on the board -- and which EPA auditors accused in 2007 of mismanaging $25 million in taxpayer funds.

Cannon sat on the board of America's Clean Water Foundation, which won some $25 million in federal contracts to identify environmental risks at beef, poultry and pork plants, and to help states and tribes comply with the Clean Water Act. EPA auditors questioned the accounting on almost all that money, charging that the group could not support some costs, included duplicate transactions on others, and did not complete several required audits. The IG report, which does not mention Cannon, also alludes to allegations of embezzlement in the foundation, which dissolved in 2006.

Senate Republicans apparently raised the report -- which appears on the first screen of a Google search on the foundation's name -- in questioning Cannon, but they said Wednesday the questions would not have affected his nomination.

The bigger issue, for a young administration that has faced many questions on its vetting process, is whether Team Obama knew about the report, and if so, how much it cared about it.

95% of muslims are good .... just like 95% of germans were good in wwii and 95% of japanese were good...terrorists, like u said, are the ones our kids are fighting.. it just so happens that 99%of terrorists today are muslim extremists... and the iraqi people are very gratefull to our kids for giving them their country back... the odumba supporters tend to think that we are at war against all muslims...

I'll try not just becouse I've deployed into that region. Redical Islamic extremist to not hate you, they oppose U.S policy that favors Israel. They hate being treated like a Imperial invading power is forcing its way of living on them.All soldiers are not void of rational & critical thought. I get angry hearing crap like this. I remember when men were men and they respected the ladies. Naughty pictures were around, but they were never made public. Now children as young as 12 know what pornography and prostitution are about. People who held important positions such as policemen, teachers and political leaders were respected. Most religeons were respected and believing in God was thought a good thing. Now, it seems we live in times where abominable personal conduct is called "alternate lifestyle." Illegal aliens who break our laws are called "undocumented workers." Now it seems there are poeple in our government who want to call war against terrorists, people who want to murder us, an "overseas contingency operation."
Our government is rewarding those who subvert our morals and democratic ideals with publicity, money, and acceptance. Our youth are "dumbed down" in school which undermines the self esteem of the lazy and slow learners. Criminals are given a pass by attributing crimes to bad genes or an undesirable environment. Corruption in the highest of political offices has become commonplace and so much a part of life and expected that many people do not bother to vote anymore. I believe what we have become is a very sharp contrast with those who risked their lives and everything they had to build our nation and protect our way of life for themselves and their children. We called them "patriots."

95% is a long shot, try about half. Many are just not active or are secretive about it. If you ask their view they will admit they are for Islam way of life for all.
