The unemployment rate is 7% because Obama doesn't count those who have given up on finding a job. Take a look at the U-6 rate for the real numbers. 13.6% is a far cry from the 7% that Barry is bragging about.

Jan 2009
The civilian labor force (154.4 million) and the labor force participation rate
(65.7 percent) were little changed in December. The employment-population ratio fell
by 0.4 percentage point to 61.0 percent over the month and by 1.7 percentage points
in 2008.c

Dec 2013
Civilian Labor Force (155.2) and the labor force participation rate (63.0 percent)

Looks like based on the records from BLS there are more individual employed in Nov 2013 than when Obama took the reigns of the nation in Jan 2009.

There are 10.9 Million looking for jobs now as compared to the 11.6 when he took over from Bush in 2009.

Maybe you aren't reading all of the numbers concerning job growth in America, all seen to suggest in raw data Americans are far along than they were prior to Obama becoming president.

Maybe more people seem unemployed because more people are entering the market now that there is hope and rescue from the Bush imposed Financial Armageddon that wrecked an Economy and a policy that eviscerated jobs from America.

Because fewer people are looking for jobs, among young adults alone the number of people entering the workplace is at historic lows.

Those numbers don't include the number of people who are underemployed. Flipping burgers when you have an MBA should not count.

In 2008 13.2% of Americans lived at or below the poverty rate, as of September 2013 that number was 15%. These are the facts that Barry would like to hide.

These are third party opinions not supported in the least by the BLS Reports..... Flipping burgers is an honest day's work, why should it not count...... there are jobs available and in dire need of filling, the issue is the sad state of education and nobody capable of filling those positions.

Any elevation from the 2008 poverty rate can be attributed to the Financial and Economic fallout in Nov 2008, or are we ignoring the catastrophic collapse of the American Economy after the republican policies took shape?

Why would he have to hide the damage and fall out from the Bush and Republican policies reigned upon America, we know full well the damage Bush and the Republicans did to a stable economy left to them by Bill Clinton. We watched the dismantling of the American economy from the minute Bush implemented the historic and disastrous tax cuts in 2001 and repeated the same looting of the U.S Treasury in 2003. While at the same time expanding spending to record numbers.

The Consequence is the standard of living for middle class Americans.

Some of you are banking on Americans forgetting and that's not working......

Did you bother to review the links in your post? Recession and the attainment of advance degrees are the primary reasons, there has been a 5 % drop since 2000 from 83% to today's 78%. That is a 13 year trend, but you associate that drop in young adults participation solely to Obama when it's been a result of the republican priorities and the inability to fund education in America.

CNBC concludes the joblessness is exacerbated by Government Spending cuts since 2010...... a ruse of the Republicans to sabotage the Economy and that's not been a mystery being the Republican swore to make sure America fails in Jan 2009 while Obama was being sworn into office.

When it comes down to a thorough analysis of the information in you links the damage to the economy is cause by Republican priorities and failed policies that have a far reaching impact on America and it's citizens.

I didn't blame anything on Obama, assigning blame blindly seems to be the tactic of liberals. What I said is that his numbers are bullsh!t.
I'm up answering this because my dog needed to go out, I suppose that is Bush's fault too.

NASA has figured out why a cooling unit on the ISS has failed, it was George Bush's fault.
