Conservatives back Rand Paul for president in early poll

Mar 16, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: reuters.com

Conservative activists picked Senator Rand Paul on Saturday as their preferred presidential nominee for 2016, in an early but often unreliable snapshot of the Republican Party's base.

He will be nominated either as the conservative candidate or as the third party candidate. There will be no more rino losers from the old gray hairs in Washington DC.

With all the clowns packed back into the Clown-PACked car, the news comes as no surprise. I rather suspect the GOP will continue to kiss up to the tea partiers to insure losing another presidential election (in spite of all its tricks to keep progressives from voting and to keep their votes from counting). However, there are far too many batshit crazy folks in the Clown-PAC car who are potential candidates from which the GOP might select, so it may be premature for us to hope it will settle on Rand Paul.

Of course, it doesnít matter whom the GOP finally nominates, since Secretary Clinton or Vice President Biden will be our next President. It will see reasonable Republicans like Gov. Christy as too progressive to nominate and they would also see it as a bad time to run.

Itís a big secret to the GOP that the majority of Americans like how President Obama and his policies are working. It believes that Americans detest the President an his policies. The majority of Americans will vote for continuation of a competent White House, just as they did in the last election.

I just wish there were better coverage of the Clown-PAC shindig. Come on Fox! Donít be embarrassed. You never have been before.

Really, Senator Big Gulp has about as much
chance being elected to the presidency
as Sara Palin making vice president.

Hey, wait a minute! Rand/Palin

Now there's a pair to draw to.

Glad to see you on the left have your noses in the air. You have a likable candidate this round and assume it's forever. As for DumBama, he's a total failure and anybody that follows politics knows this. The last nail in the coffin will be when Commie Care goes into full swing in 2014. Now they are reporting that your veterinarian bill will be increasing thanks to Commie Care. You can mess with Americans, but don't mess with their pets. Today, you can get more time in jail for beating your dog than you can beating your wife.

I would like to see a Paul/ Rubio ticket. We would pull in all those Ron Paul voters as well as Hispanics. The joke on the internet is a Hillary and Mz DumBama ticket. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

Polls are beginning to show that America is sick of the "blame the other guy" President. Unemployment hasn't changed much in four years, people are paying around $4.00 per gallon of gasoline, and there seems to be on exciting economical news. And no, it's not George Bush's fault either.

You'll get (Jeb)Bush/Paul to lose in '16 if you're lucky, but Bush/Rubio is the more likely 2016 not even close team.

Despite your revealing diatribes about progressives with whom you disagree based on right wing extremist propaganda that we all know so well that itís hardly worth repeating yet (or ever) again, I join you and probably most progressives in toasting the possibility of a Rand Paul / Marco Rubio GOP ticket. That would indeed keep all our noses hoisted above the waterís surface in the swim to keep America moving forward (if youíll pardon the idea). Or as you might put it, that would be a hoot.

Being the independent thinker that you must be, please articulate your reason that you would place Paul above Rubio on the ticket. Also, are we paying more than the world average for gasoline and if so, how come and what actions could rectify the situation? Iíd really enjoy the benefit of your analysis and insight into these matters.

For one, we could quit printing all that monopoly money. The weaker the US dollar, the more dollars it takes to buy crude and gasoline on a world market. That would lower the price at least a bit. Secondly we need to get rid of ethanol to help bring down the prices of food. When you constantly burn up your food supply, it only creates shortages..... especially when we have droughts.

I think Paul should be at the top of the ticket because he has his father's name and making quite a splash himself. I think he can relate to the public better instead of looking like the run-of-the-mill politician. One of the reasons I never cared for Boehner is because he is the epitome of a politician. No excitement with that guy. I also don't see too much excitement in Rubio although he's a tad wilder than Boehner.

I also believe that the GOP should not allow new voters until after a primary. It's my suspicion that Democrats are jumping the fence before the primary and picking our candidate. I simply don't believe that we chose a moderate two times in a row. If you want to switch parties, fine, then you can do it before the general election.

Locally, I think we in Ohio need to do away with mail-in ballots. I don't trust them and it makes it too easy for the non-educated voter to vote. We could still have them, but like it was before when only certain conditions warrant a mail-in ballot.

Want to talk about a loser ticket? How about Biden-Clinton, or Clinton-Biden in 2016? Or Hillary, and Michelle? Next to that bunch Jeb Bush looks like a political genius.

Probably not.

Remember the dumber they are the more teabaggers love them.

Paul gave a filibuster that lasted 13 hours, a teabaggers attention span is at the most, 13 minutes and those are filled with sound bites and talking points.

They'll draft Sarah and nominate Marco.

Poor teabaggers.

Then again they voted for Sarah.

AND Mitt.

Poor teabagger.
