I can't believe this is even open for debate, or the president even considering it.

Allowing a foreign company to use American eminent domain laws to steal land from American citizens to build a pipeline that will only benefit the foreign company. And no guarantee that any oil produced will stay in America.

Obama has it made on this issue. Unions pretend they want more Union jobs but Obama's handlers know that the Unions are in the tank for Obama no matter how terrible the outcome for working families.

Only if every gallon transported though the pipeline is refined in America and the resutling products are sold in America to bring down the price of gas in this country.

AND the oil & gas companies have to give up their tax breaks.

Deal?

If America is to become a world class oil producer why do we let Canada compete with us on own shores.

Might be interesting to find the number of Americans who will work for this Canadian endeavor.

A vast majority of those subsidies (all but $2.8 billion) were for nuclear power, energy-efficient cars and buildings, and renewable fuels research. In addition, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service, the tax changes in the 2005 energy bill produced a net tax increase for the oil and gas companies, as we’ve reported time and time and time again. They did get some breaks, but they had more taken away.

How about the bottom 40% who don't work, don't want to work and pay no taxes at all get back on the program!

The 2% already pay most of the taxes.

Considering the hundreds of billions they make in profits every year, it's time to take away ALL their subsidies.

Why are the taxpayers subsidizing companies making hundreds of billions in profits every year?

They can use some of those profits to invest in research & production etc.

If they don't work, what will they use to pay taxes with? Monopoly money??

You tax those who have money, not those who don't.

Rejecting this pipeline will be a huge political mistake for obama! As long as the oil will not be exported he should back it 100%!
