Since I'm into quotes at the momment. How does Romney feel about working class people that make under $200,000 per year?.....
"Let Detroit go bankrupt."
-- Mitt Romney
“Don't try to stop the foreclosure process. Let it run its course and hit the bottom.”
— Mitt Romney, defending banks and kicking people out of their homes.
“I'm not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there.”
—Mitt Romney (January 2012)
“(People) who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it.”
"I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
"My job is not to worry about those people."
-- Mitt Romney, May 2012
George Stephanopoulos ..... "Is $100,000 middle income?"
Mitt Romney ..... "No, middle income is $200,000 to $250,000 and less." (on ABC's 'Good Morning America', Sept. 14, 2012)
“I should tell my story. I'm also unemployed.”
-- Mitt Romney, speaking in 2011 to unemployed people in Florida. In case anyone doesn't know ..... Romney's net worth is over $250 million.
“I have inherited nothing. Everything Ann and I have we have earned the old-fashioned way.”
-- Mitt Romney, said May 2012. But Mitt Romney grew up in one of the wealthiest communities in America, attended an elite prep school, worked for his father, the governor of Michigan, and used stock to pay for his multiple degrees from Stanford, BYU, and Harvard.
What's happening to our troops overseas isn't important?.....
“When you give a speech you don't go through a laundry list, you talk about the things that you think are important.”
-- Mitt Romney, when asked about failing to mention the troops in his nomination speech at the Republican National Convention, Fox News interview, Sept. 7, 2012
“I get speaker's fees from time to time, but not very much.”
-- Mitt Romney .....
Liar liar pants on fire ..... he earned $374,000 in speaking fees in one year according to his personal financial disclosure (January 2012)
Mitt Romney in 2012 .....“I don't manage the money that I have. In order to make sure that I didn't have a conflict of interest while I was governor or while I was considering a run for national office, I had a blind trust established.”
But in 1994 he said this .....
Mitt Romney in 1994 .....“The blind trust is an age-old ruse, if you will, which is to say, you can always tell the blind trust what it can and cannot do. You give a blind trust rules.”
"I saw my father march with Martin Luther King."
-- Mitt Romney, bragging in 2007 about his family's record on civil rights.
But guess what? Romney later had to admit he didn't see his father march with King, nor did his father ever march with Martin Luther King on the same day or in the same city. Romney gets another liar lair pants on fire on this.
Romney, speaking in May of 2012 about the U.S. auto industry's comeback .....“I pushed the idea of a managed bankruptcy. And finally, when that was done, and help was given, the companies got back on their feet. So I'll take a lot of credit for the fact that this industry's come back.”
But ..... yep, there's that word 'but' again .....
Romney said, writing in a 2008 New York Times op-ed titled 'Let Detroit Go Bankrupt'.....“If General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler get the bailout that their chief executives asked for yesterday, you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye.”
