Friend, I have been posting on topix for over 3 years. This is far from my first post. I don't post every day but I do post. You can find me on the Illinois forums. I have no idea about cnn because I rarely vist the site.
Do you have any specific purpose in calling every user Nate? That's not my name.
No your posts don't anger me. I feel sorry for you more than anything. What a sad person who does that while the rest of us, on both sides, are trying to discuss the facts.
Here are some of the friendly Illinois threads http://www.topix.com/forum/state/il/TLJ1SRB73...

I am wondering you are not there preaching civility. Probably for the same reason you do not preach civility to the nicotine addicts here- you simply have an axe to grind against those of us who believe in smoke and vape free air. Have at it, Nate.

I understand that. I even agree. The only problem is that before the ban, I couldn't find anywhere to have a drink that didn't allow smoking. In some areas of Illinois and Ohio I couldn't even find restaurants where I could eat without the smoke.
If the people from your camp could just guarantee me somewhere to go without the smoke, I would gladly support repealing the bans. That's all I ask is just one place.
I think now that less people smoke, the free market might take care of that. I think it would. Either way I just want somewhere. That's all I ask.
You empower more government when you take away the rights of gays to marry and adopt children, so don't sit there and carp about more government.

I call you Nate because you act like Nate. You come on here acting all high and might and act like what xxxrayted or booya says is different from what I post. More specifically you act like the smoking forum has not been a pool of vitriol for 8 years now. So, either you have not been coming on topix much (because even in the dog or car forums there is vitriol) in which case you have no idea what you are talking about or you are a liar. If you don't like what I write, don't read it. Then you won't get upset and feel like you need to respond.
That is because I haven't witnessed any of them saying that non-smokers don't count or aren't important. I haven't witnessed any of them making posts that are 100% spam like #133. Or telling people to drink urine. Or making offtopic references to flatulence. Or making deeply insulting (on a personal level) generalizations about people who do or do not smoke.

You don't do it in every post but you do it often. Very often. Re read your posts and see what I mean.

I haven't been on the smoking forum until today. I spend most of my time on the forums of various cities in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Minnesota.

But I do know that 2 wrongs don't make a right. If I witnessed the others you speak of I would say the same thing to them.

Who in this world are you talking to? I support lgbt rights. My brother is gay and my neighbor/best friend is transgendered.

I am familiar with what I post, Vapers want us to inhale "Vapor" which they claim is harmless. Of course, the vapor contains other chemicals. Farts are mostly water vapor and air. According to the "vapers" definition of harmless, they are harmless. Since, in essence, farts and vapor are the same, it is an accurate comparison. Urine comes out of the body harmless and some people actually drink it and believe that it is healthy. Telling someone they can drink nicotine enhanced piss is no different from them telling me that I can inhale their smoke or vapor. Smokers and vapers are addicts. If they want to smoke or vape, so be it. They just can no longer do so in a manner which could injure others.

Again, one of the links I posted was to a thread spewing anti-gay hatred. I will go back there later on and see how many of those people you are taking to task. Or maybe you could go HERE:
http://www.topix.com/forum/news/gay/TCR09D1CU...
and preach civility.
Of course, you will not do that because civility is the farthest thing from your mind.

I agree with you 100%, however I don't think that it's a government issue. I think it's a private industry issue.

Most establishments never restricted smoking because that way they could cater to more people. Smokers would use the business and non-smokers as well because even though not a total desired environment, non-smokers would not boycott such businesses. They just tolerated it.

Many restaurants that I used to go to had smoking and non-smoking sections. Those places poured thousands of dollars in air cleaning devices to accommodate non-smokers. But government didn't make them do it--the market did.

Before our ban of public smoking in Ohio, places were already banning tobacco products in their business. I'm fine with that. That's choice. The more choices we have, the more freedom we have. Government? No choice for anybody.

One company I worked for years ago stopped smoking inside of the building, but they allowed smokers to go outside to smoke as long as they didn't spend the entire day out there. If not abused, the company agreed they would keep the policy in place, and it worked out well for everybody.

It is a health issue. Would you allow someone to flip burgers without washing their hands after having taken a messy dump?

Thank you for proving you don't have an answer.

Gays can marry in every one of our 57 states. Any two people that find a religion to marry them will have no government agency stop them. They can have a big ceremony at their church, drive off in a limo to their wedding hall, and have the party of their life, and not one cop will try and stop the event.

You asked where was it written that gays have a right to marry. And now you answer the question. Of course, you added SEVEN states to our current fifty.

Unfortunately, the conservatives are blocking gay rights, claiming that marriage is between a man and a woman. Because of this, many gays are deprived of survivor rights. Marriage is a LEGAL institution.

No, marriage is a religious institution that government eventually adopted. And just where are Gay Rights written, next to marriage rights?

This issue has nothing to do with survivor rights or anything else. Anybody with a good lawyer can leave what they want to whomever they want. I'm not married and I have a will. I'm leaving all my earthly possessions to various people--none of which I'm married to.
I think the problem here is you don't understand politics, hence, your inability to get my joke of 57 states. Republicans this and Republicans that. Yet, DumBama had the entire federal government for the first couple of years in office, and he didn't address any of your liberal issues. He didn't address the NSA issue, he didn't address the gay marriage issue, he didn't address the Patriot Act, he didn't address No Child Left Behind, he didn't address any of these so-called Republicans issues. It's all politics. Remember the hell you liberals gave GW about stem cell research? I haven't heard anything about stem cells since DumBama rode into office.
