Chris Christie's RGA Attacks Chris Christie's Medicaid Expansion

A circular firing squad, brought to you by Chris Christie and the RGA.

Hypocrisy, call thy name Republican and be grateful.--a fake anonymous quote.

As we gear up for the midterm election, you will notice that Republicans will up the ante on attacking Democrats over Obamacare and the Medicaid expansion. The irony or the con is that many of the attacks will come from Republicans that supported it. And when it comes to Obamacare or the ACA, there will be no bigger hypocrites than Republican governors and the RGA led by Chris Christie.

Dylan Scott:

The Republican Governors Association is attacking the South Carolina Democratic gubernatorial candidate for supporting Obamacare's Medicaid expansion -- even though several RGA members, including its chair, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, have adopted the expansion.
The Washington Post reported that the RGA had made a $200,000 buy to air a new ad against State Sen. Vincent Sheheen, who is challenging Republican Gov. Nikki Haley for the South Carolina governorship.

"Remember this guy, Sheheen? Well first, Sheheen supported much of Obamacare. But then he refused to support the lawsuit to stop it," the ad says. "Now, Vincent Sheheen wants to use Obamacare for a $2 billion expansion of Medicaid in South Carolina."

It ends with the ominous text: "Vincent Sheheen's Plan: Even More Obamacare."

What the ad doesn't mention is that eight GOP governors -- Christie, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple and Ohio Gov. John Kasich -- have signed onto that key provision of the health care reform law.

In Republican politics it doesn't matter what they do, only what they say. Republican governors know that expanding Medicaid is great for their constituents, great for their state and great for the budget. Unfortunately, too many of them are holding out on Medicaid expansion because of the politics of it and not because of the good it will do, which should be an impeachable offense.

Here's Governor Christie's own words on why it's smart to expand Medicaid.

“Accepting these federal resources will provide health insurance to tens of thousands of low-income New Jerseyans, help keep our hospitals financially healthy and actually save money for New Jersey taxpayers," Christie said when accepting the expansion funding a year ago. It "is the smart thing to do for our fiscal and public health."
What a scumbag.

Rush Limbaugh Mocks “12 Years a Slave” Winning Best Picture

Limbaugh said,“If it was the only thing that movie won, it was gonna win best picture. There was no way. It didn’t matter if it was good or bad. I haven’t seen it. It was going to win. It had the magic word in the title. Slave.”

Oh, by the way, Limbaugh has never seen the movie.

So here we have Rush Limbaugh, bashing 12 Years a Slave for winning Best Picture – claiming that it only won because it has the word “slave” in the title – yet he hasn’t even seen the movie to know the quality of the film.

It would seem to me that the only objection then that Limbaugh has against 12 Years a Slave winning Best Picture (since he hasn’t seen it) is that it’s a movie about African-Americans and slavery.

I guess we shouldn’t pay attention to the fact that on IMDB it has a rating of 8.3 (out of 10) or on Rotten Tomatoes it has 96% rating by critics and a 92% rating by viewers. Nope. The movie only won Best Picture because it had “slave” in the title.

Blatant ignorance like this is why I find it so difficult to take Republicans seriously. For one of their prominent media figures to sit there and degrade a film he’s never seen based entirely off race is racist.
It’s like I’ve told Republicans before: if you want to stop being called the party of racists, you need to stop supporting racists. It’s that simple.

Exactly. Just like them flocking for OBAMAcare funds. hahaha Bunch of loser hypocrites.

Paul Ryan & 16 Other Hypocritical Republicans Caught Begging For Obamacare Funds

You wont believe what The Nation magazine obtained through a Freedom of Information Act Inquiry: a list of 17 Republicans who secretly pursued Obamacares medicaid expansion dollars while hypocritically slamming the law in public, as well as all of their letters begging for the funds from the big, bad federal government.

Every single one of the Republican congresspeople listed below, including master hypocrite Paul Ryan, have voted over 30 times to repeal the law while privately begging for its funding from the federal government.

The Nation calls this behavior shameless hypocrisy as well as evidence of the fact that the Affordable Care Act bestows tangible benefits that even congresses most extreme right wing ideologues are hard-pressed to deny to their constituents.

While Tea Party Republicans literally believe Obamacare to be socialist Armageddon, some of their favorite representatives are making it clear that they are aware of the reality that the Affordable Care Act is a much-needed reform that will improve the life of millions of Americans, including their own constituents.

While the corporate dominated mainstream media is likely to ignore this story, it is up to us to make some noise about the incredible hypocrisy of these Republican Congress people that publicly denounced a wonderful reform and then turn around and beg for money for its implementation.

Please do your part by sharing this and other related articles on social media forums.

Read all of their hypocritical letters here.

lQQkie here, an article about goatshit, arisocks, booze hound lisa loon, chemtrail zombie serb hag, the pissedon troll, white teabagger f'k (wtf), TN trash mouth troll, and of course Dorothy from Kansas. hahaha

Study suggests internet trolls may not be mentally healthy in real life

A new study from the University of Manitoba has shockingly claimed to have found that the Internet trolls we all know or love so well may not be very nice -- or particularly mentally healthy -- individuals in real life.

The study tried to explore whether or not Internet trolls fell into the so called Dark Tetrad: Machiavellianism (willingness to manipulate and deceive others), narcissism (egotism and self-obsession), psychopathy (the lack of remorse and empathy), and sadism (pleasure in the suffering of others). The study (mostly survey, really) claims to have found:

"... correlations, sometimes quite significant, between these traits and trolling behavior. Whats more, it also found a relationship between all Dark Tetrad traits (except for narcissism) and the overall time that an individual spent, per day, commenting on the Internet."

It's worth noting that the survey found, by and large, that most people online are perfectly reasonable and decent human beings. At the very least they're just quiet lurkers:

"To be sure, only 5.6 percent of survey respondents actually specified that they enjoyed "trolling." By contrast, 41.3 percent of Internet users were non-commenters, meaning they didnt like engaging online at all. So trolls are, as has often been suspected, a minority of online commenters, and an even smaller minority of overall Internet users."

The study appears to rely heavily on subjects pulled from Amazon's Mechanical Turk, who may not be a good control representative of what constitutes normal behavior, either online or off. The study also appears to be rather heavily reliant on simply asking people if they liked to be jerks on the Internet -- which if I were an Internet troll, I'm not sure I'd answer correctly. Reading their analysis and methodology, it's not clear to me if the researchers did (or could) calculate how anonymity can turn a relatively normal person into a blathering jackass (as this classic Penny Arcade comic illustrates in deep scientific detail).

Is somebody necessarily a sadist offline because anonymity turns them into a jerk when they're online? Isn't it possible that people act worse online because the sense of anonymity gives them the belief they're free from repercussion and can therefore experiment with darker, but not necessarily dominant, aspects of their personality they'd fear to explore offline? Wouldn't that especially be true of children, who may express anger at their lack of power through online rage, but develop into perfectly normal people as they age?

You can dig through the full methodology yourself, assuming you're smart enough, professor. Those shoes make you look fat. I'd also like to point out that the Beatles sucked, Internet Explorer is the vastly superior browser, the RIAA makes a lot of solid points based on sound scientific data, the Comcast merger will help cure cancer and save puppies, and my little sister is much better than you are at this game, bro.

Putin Unites Democrats and Republicans As Eric Cantor Will Work With Obama on Russia Sanctions

Vladimir Putin has done the impossible. He has rallied Republicans to support Obama, as Majority Leader Eric Cantor has vowed to work with the president on sanctions against Russia.

In a statement, Majority Leader Cantor said:

Russias invasion of Ukraine violates international law and its long-standing agreements. Russian aggression must cease, and Moscow must withdraw its military forces and cease interfering and undermining the sovereignty and domestic politics of its neighbor. Moscows flagrant disregard for Ukraines territorial integrity, in addition to its continuing support of some of the worlds most oppressive regimes, should spur a long overdue reassessment of our policy towards Russia.

To deal with the crisis in Ukraine and respond to Russias provocation, I have asked our House committee Chairmen to develop plans to assist the government of Ukraine, put pressure on Russia, and reassure allies throughout the world that the United States will not stand idly by in the face of such aggression. Specifically, the House will review how we can expeditiously consider assistance to Ukraine in the form of loan guarantees. I believe there is bipartisan support for such assistance, but we must make sure it is done responsibly and any legislation is not delayed by adding divisive provisions. We should be focused on moving such a package as quickly as possible.

We will also begin reviewing what authorities, similar to the Magnitsky Act, we may provide the Administration so that the President can take actions to impose sanctions on Russian officials, oligarchs, and other individuals complicit in Russias efforts to invade and interfere with Ukraines sovereign affairs. I have spoken to Administration officials to express our interest in working together to ensure that President Obama has the appropriate tools to impose real consequences on Russia for this aggression.

It appears that Vladimir Putin has done the impossible. He has broken the gridlock in Washington and bridged the partisan divide. Both parties agree that Russias actions in the Ukraine are unacceptable, and they are willing to work together to impose tough sanctions.

Rep. Cantor (R-VA) may not want word to get out about his willingness to work with President Obama, but the House Republican leadership is doing the right thing. It will be interesting to see how many Republicans in the House will be willing to put aside their Obama hate, and join them.

Many of the Republicans elected to the House in the last two elections won because of their promise to oppose the president on everything. Due to the radical nature of both the politicians serving in the House and the Republicans voters who elected them, it wouldnt be terribly surprising to see some sort of attempt to attach the repeal of Obamacare to any sanctions legislation, tea party rebellion, or any other form of general insanity that has become common in the House.
If Putin was counting on Republican opposition to the president saving him from the consequences of his decision to invade another country, he is in for a big surprise. The price of his actions is increasing by the day, with Democrats and Republicans united in their desire to make the Russian leader pay a heavy price
