The Obama administration is trumpeting a weekend deal with Iran and five other nations that will freeze certain parts of the Iranian nuclear program and open facilities for greater inspection in exchange for the relaxing of some crippling financial sanctions. But a Mideast expert tells WND it’s a grave mistake to trust Iran.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is incensed at the deal, calling it an “historic mistake.” Congressional Republicans, as well as many Democrats, are worried that the deal results in the U.S. giving up key diplomatic leverage while Iran technically gives up nothing.

Despite Voting Against It, Top Republican Claims He ‘Worked His Entire Career’ For Pay Equity

Sen. Mitch McConnell is claiming to be a staunch advocate of equal pay for women, but his voting record hasn’t always lined up with his campaign’s statement.

In an article about his potential Democratic opponent Alison Lundergan Grimes’s proposals to combat pay discrimination and help working women, his campaign spokeswoman told the Lexington Herald-Leader,“As the father of three daughters, fair pay for women is more than a talking point for Sen. McConnell.” She added,“It’s something he’s worked to achieve his entire career by setting an example for others and promoting thoughtful policies to ensure talent overcomes bias.”

Yet McConnell voted twice against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which eased the requirements for women to seek remedies for pay discrimination in court by providing them more time. It was signed into law by President Obama shortly after he assumed the office. McConnell has also voted twice against the Paycheck Fairness Act. That law would increase penalties against employers who discriminate in order to prevent it in the first place, tighten the rules about what counts as a justifiable pay difference, and ban the practice of salary secrecy, something that means about half of all workers are either prohibited or strongly discouraged from discussing pay with each other and that makes it very difficult for women to root out discrimination. Republicans have unanimously blocked the measure.

For her part, Grimes called for pay equity and a raise in the minimum wage. Women make up two-thirds of minimum wage workers, including the vast majority of tipped workers who are only guaranteed $2.13 an hour. Raising the wage would give them a boost and has also proven to help close the gender wage gap, as states with wider gaps tend to have lower minimum wages.

She also called for increasing tax breaks for businesses that create on-the-job childcare for their workers. She pointed to the fact that more than 140,000 women in Kentucky’s workforce have children under the age of six and need childcare support.

McConnell’s campaign pointed to extended tax credits in the fiscal cliff agreement he helped produce for employers who spend money on building childcare facilities in January. It also highlighted his work to extend the child tax credit and dependent care credit as well as supporting a recent bill that Republicans say would help families with workplace flexibility.

Yet opponents of that bill warned it could allow employers to coerce workers into taking unpaid comp time instead of overtime wages and wouldn’t actually ensure flexible scheduling.

Across the country, women still make just 77 cents for every dollar a man makes on average, and a woman will make less than a man at the beginning of her career, no matter how much education she gets, no matter what job or industry she goes into, and even if she reaches the top ranks of her company.

Mitch has done nothing for the country or the State of Kentucky since elected in 1985 and really people continued to elected him for 29 years. He has worked hard for special interest for self profit, he did inside trading to increase his wealth and even courted a young Taiwan DC staffer name Elaine Chao. McConnell married for 25 years with 3 children got frisky at the age of 51 years old and dumped his wife and kids for the 39 year old staffer. Still not working for the people even when major disasters hit the State. But the Tea Party is on the move with their candidate using the Republican name to push Mitch out. Now comes the lies Mitch will sell and look for him to use God like his fellow lawmakers do to get vote. Mitch pushed for the government shut down thinking the Tea Party would help him get elected. Mitch took center stage in 2009 promising to do nothing while Obama was in office. He fought against the Obamacare but as Speaker Boehner exposed on Nov. 22, 2013 that all the lawmakers and their staff have signed up. For 29 years Mitch has just felt the Kentucky Senate set was his and people only mattered for votes.

McCONnell voted against:
Equal Pay For Women (passed anyway)

McCONnell voted against the
Violence Against Women Act

There are over 2,225,000 women in Kentucky, the MAJORITY won't forget.

John Boehner’s Socialism: Taxpayers Pay 75% of His Premiums and His Wife is On Medicare

“Next year Mrs. Boehner will be on Medicare.” This news is brought to you by Michael Hiltzik at the LA Times, in the midst of his fact-checking of John Boehner’s claims to be paying tons more money post-ObamaCare (shockingly a lie).

Also,“Boehner’s premiums are partially covered by his employer, the federal government, which pays up to 75% of employee premiums, up to a cap of $426.14 a month (for 2014).” This is confirmed by Factcheck.Org , which finds that the government pays on average 72% and up to 75%.

Not only do we, the taxpayers, fund 75% of Boehner’s premiums, but his wife is going on Medicare.

Republicans have been trying to kill Medicare for years.

Republicans call public servants like teachers “thugs” for any perks they get, but have no problem with getting 75% of their own premiums paid for.

Republicans like to pretend that their health insurance is the same as any federal employee.

U.S. Rep. Steve Southerland, R-Panama City, made that claim in Florida. And while it’s technically true that their plans are the same, and federal employees get a much better deal than the private sector employees, Congress gets other perks (is this a bad time to remind Boehner that he kept the House gym open when his party shutdown the government?). PolitiFact explained:

This proves that John Boehner doesn’t know anything about what most Americans deal with when it comes to healthcare… and for that matter, most Congressional members do not. But Republicans are the people trying to derail affordable healthcare for Americans.

So maybe they should hush up about things they don’t understand, and get on with the business of being total hypocrites on our tax dollars. It’s what they do best.

Religious Exemptions Cost US More Than $83.5 Billion In Taxes Annually

That 83.5 billion dollar estimate is also on the extreme low-end of the scale considering that local property taxes, local income tax, sales tax, SECA exemptions, donor tax exemptions, business income tax, and subsidies for fundraising and volunteer labor were all left unaccounted for.

Additionally, Cragun and his students penned the property value estimate of religions in the United States at only $600 billion. While that already sounds like a colossal number, it doesn’t account for any secondary buildings and structures left exempt under the blanket privilege given to these organizations, which includes everything from large, expensive monuments to minor church-owned businesses, to outdoor plazas and Joel Osteen’s 10.5 million dollar River Oaks mansion.

http://www.occupydemocrats.com/83-5-billion-d...

Time to change this concept and weed out the Churches and "so called" organizations using that tax credit while playing politics. Big chunk of cash into the Federal Reserve. Long overdue. Churches should be saving souls and preaching the teaching of Jesus, not politics.

You might be a republican if you believe that the government should stay out of your life! Unless of course, it's at the doctor's office, at the church, in the bedroom, involves a restriction on guns, or a woman's body.
