Americans increasingly support stricter gun control legislation in the aftermath of the mass shooting in Las Vegas - but only a tiny fraction of Americans think Congress will do anything substantive about it, a new poll shows. Days after gunman Stephen Paddock killed 58 people from a hotel window, 64 percent of voters in a Politico/Morning Consult survey said they want Congress to tighten gun regulations - a 3-percentage-point increase in support as compared to recent months.

Repeal the 2nd amendment and ban all assault weapons. No bump stocks, silencers, or other such toys. STATE permit to have any form of semi-automatic weapon. Hunting weapons require only a local permit. Canada follows that kind of approach, and it works.

You're an idiot if you think that'll fly here bud.
The repealing of the 2nd Amendment would be a declaration of war upon the American people who would respond accordingly.

I suggest you move to Canada if you agree with your totalitarian statements.

That does not make sense. If you "repeal" the Second Amendment then you don't have to ban assault weapons. You're irrational.

The "funny" thing about guns in the US is that the bulk of the 30k or so gun deaths each year come from gun owners' own accidents, domestic disputes, suicides. They're "protecting" themselves to death.

I also read that three percent of gun owners account for 50% of gun ownership in the US. That seems virtually impossible, although I am sure a lot of the gun ownership is concentrated in relatively small portion of the total populace. And I bet that small portion is the most regressive on racial justice, economic justice, lgbt rights, climate science, Evolution, universal vaccination, progressive tax rates, etc.

How many motor vehicle accidents are suicides, accidents, domestic disputes?

800,000 deer hunters in Minnesota.

150,000 ll small game hunters in Minnesota.

265,000 CC permit holders in Minnesota.

So there is well over a million hunters and CC permit holders. Which makes about 20% of Minnesota residents owning a gun. If one takes into account that each household owning a gun there are 2 adults so the number of gun owners is probably 40% and much greater. Many gun owners don't hunt or have a CC permit.

At least 50% of Minnesota residents have a gun probably a lot more than that.

Hey retardate, the number of gun deaths per year is now higher than the number of motor vehicle deaths. Why are you so ignorant about everything?

More people drive than own guns. Cars are much more vital than owning guns. Car drivers must have a title transfer for all sales, have liability insurance, get licensed by the government, be sober when operating. These would all be a good start for gun owners, who, as I said, endanger their household members statistically by their owning guns.

You are stupid. You are incapable of understanding any of this. There's little doubt that you'll harm yourself or someone with one of your guns some day.

Must have liability insurance. HaHaHa. I guess you've never had a run in with an uninsured driver, that's why we have to pay higher premiums to insure ourselves against uninsured and under insured drivers. Must be sober when operating. Hows that working out? You damn DOLT.

Gibberish. The 2nd amendment supposedly guarantees the right of possession...any restrictions would have to come AFTER it was appealed. We could do what Australia did, but not with the 2nd in place.

Australia hasn't had a single mass shooting in the years since they passed strict gun laws. We could do that, too, but we won't. Why?

Money talks.
