On Sunday morning the simmering Democratic fear that Republicans might take over the Senate became real. Nate Silver had rendered his judgment and colored his charts. Months before, while others still saw Democrats holding the Senate, Silver had predicted that the 2014 election was a tossup. Nothing he has seen since has changed his mind. Republicans had recruited strong candidates, Barack Obama had gotten intimate with a 43 percent approval rating, and FiveThirtyEight remained skeptical of Democrats’ chances.“Our forecast might be thought of as a Republican gain of six seats,” wrote Silver,“plus or minus five.”

Birth of U.S. Citizens Abroad

A child born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent or parents may acquire U.S. citizenship at birth if certain statutory requirements are met. The child’s parents should contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate to apply for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America (CRBA) to document that the child is a U.S. citizen. If the U.S. embassy or consulate determines that the child acquired U.S. citizenship at birth, a consular officer will approve the CRBA application and the Department of State will issue a CRBA, also called a Form FS-240 [formerly a DS-1350 form], in the child’s name.

According to U.S. law, a CRBA is proof of U.S. citizenship and may be used to obtain a U.S. passport and register for school, among other purposes.

The child’s parents may choose to apply for a U.S. passport for the child at the same time that they apply for a CRBA. Parents may also choose to apply only for a U.S. passport for the child. Like a CRBA, a full validity, unexpired U.S. passport is proof of U.S. citizenship.

Now you need to ask yourself... did you perform these acts because you are afraid to go to hell... because you want to get to heaven?
Or, did you do it because you are a quality example of a human being who has empathy for the vulnerable?
1. Can you name a single moral act or statement that a believer may do or say... that a nonbeliever may not?
2. I am willing to bet that it takes no time at all to name an immoral act that a believer may perform that a nonbeliever would not.
For example... I understand you don't have children and I respect that. But, say a woman gave birth to your beautiful son, he is perfect in every way... if the thought that you need a sharp rock to hack at his genitalia to make god happy enters your mind... we are finished with number 2.

Whoa, whoa, it was GWB who cancelled the programme. The last flight was July 2011, maybe 2 years ahead of schedule, yet, what would that change today relative to the Russians now having a hold on flights to and from the station?

You are a flaming hypocrite, You made it sound, 2 days ago, like it was Obama who halted the space shuttle programme. You liked that. I've been bugging you for 2 days now, at the very least 5 times I've asked you who terminated the shuttle programme and you come back with "Obama terminated it 2 years ahead of schedule?" What? You're too small, too puny, too petty, you just can't bear to come out and just say "it was GWB who terminated the shuttle programme"

And the replacement won't be ready in 2016 OR 2017.

USS Enterprise? Fed up with your changing the subject. What the hell does the USS Enterprise have to do with the space shuttle? Were they intending to launch the aircraft carrier to the space station?

The ISS is 90% funded by the US? More inventions. If it''s so, I'm sure you'll come up with proof immediately. Waiting. Sigh. Please prove it.

Cruz was born in Canada from a Canadian mother and Cuban father., He is Canadian first, Cuban second and maybe not even American. And at the very least, he has dual nationality, which, according to you and your insane birther comrades, disqualifies him from being president,or even senator for that matter. And he's so bright,so intelligent, he thought that by stating at a press conference that he didn't want to be a Canadian any more, this is all he had to do, mention it. Looks promising....

Seth McFarlane is an executive producer, and it was his idea to put in on Fox. The reasoning was that they aren't trying to preach to the choir.

I find this commandment the most interesting because it comes with an inducement.

Honor thy Father and thy Mother is reasonable enough. But the whole commandment continues... "...that thy days may be long upon the land that God has given thee."

Increased tenure on the land that has been promised to you.(A guarantee by God)

It seems to imply that you are doing it for a legacy inherited from them.

The world's leading climate scientists gathered in Japan on Tuesday to begin hashing out the final details of a "grim" climate report, which both leaked drafts and those familiar with its contents say will call on policy makers to take immediate action or face a climate future that will otherwise be marked by widespread ecological and human catastrophe.
Of those harsh challenges, the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report—according to a draft version of the leaked earlier this year— will show that the four degrees Celsius rise that we are currently careening towards will undoubtedly cause increasing natural disasters, including: more violent storms, forest fires, devastating droughts, flooding, widespread hunger, disease, and a rise in ocean levels by up to a meter.

So what your telling me is that we should turn over the reliability of our energy production and needs to the weather? That makes sense to you? Natural gas produces a far cheaper megawatt then wind and solar, and can produce that energy regardless of day or night, windy or not windy, extremely cold or hot, and you believe we should be at the whims of the weather?

Common sense tells me that the United States government is in bed with Big Oil / Big Energy so saving money on gas and oil with Solar Panels are out of the question.

Since 2001, energy corporations have showered federal politicians with $115 million in campaign contributions—with three-quarters of that amount going to Republicans. This cash helped secure energy companies and their lobbyists exclusive, private access to lawmakers, starting with Vice-President Dick Cheney’s Energy Task Force, whose report provided the foundation of the energy bill passed by Congress and signed by President Bush on August 8.

The GOP’s embassy security problem

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has scheduled a fairly high-profile hearing today on security lapses at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. There’s one nagging problem, however, that might cause Republicans some trouble.
For example, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), a member of Issa’s committee, told Soledad O’Brien this morning that he expects to hear testimony about security that “didn’t meet the basic, minimum standards required for a facility such as the one we had in Benghazi.” Chaffetz added that policymakers have to “make sure it doesn’t happen in other places around the world.”

GOP Rep: I ‘Absolutely’ Voted To Cut Funding For Embassy Security
October 10, 2012 / http://tinyurl.com/8dtbwbd

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) said today that he voted to cut funding for U.S. embassy security amid political attacks from Republicans that the Obama administration did not do enough to secure the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya that was attacked last month.

Republicans and their allies have been trying to politicize the attack — which killed four Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador to Libya — suggesting, without evidence, the Obama administration may have ignored intelligence that the attack was imminent, didn’t properly secure the Benghazi compound and is now trying to cover it up.
But hidden beneath the GOP campaign is the fact that House Republicans voted to cut nearly $300 million from the U.S. embassy security budget. When asked if he voted to cut the funds this morning on CNN, Chaffetz said,“Absolutely“:
