Most of the citizens who are on food stamps are there because they are poor- one third of the families who collect food stamps do have one person who works full time but work for companies like WalMart who most of their employees pay less an hour than some state's minimum wage. Another third are looking for work; the last third are elderly or single parents with children.
Most of the People who are on welfare are the ones like yourself that dont want to work and provide for yourself and consider welfare their occupation like yourself.

The New Normal: Welfare is Now America's Most Popular Occupation

New data has revealed what is perhaps the most depressing economic statistic of the year: More people in America are on welfare than have full-time jobs. Yes, you read that correctly. Welfare is now America’s most popular occupation.

When was the last time that fat Mama, dragging her 5 children through the line at WalMart provided a job for someone? Welfare fraud Investigators don't count.

I would love for food stamp and welfare program to be reduced by 75%. Sure wish the greedy treasonous rich slime and evil vile big business would bring back good paying jobs so people could go back to work..
I would love to see the administration make the proper economic decisions that would allow businesses to use their profits to produce more well paying jobs instead of taxing them and regulating them to the point of extinction. When we allow the government to control the money then we are all at risk of being subservient to them for our well being.

You can get a state id card at ANY tag agency. There is no excuse for not having one if you depend on welfare.

The reason the majority of food stamp recipients are against the id is that they use more than one name to get multiple food stamp cards. You can't double up on state id's because they enter your fingerprint. That would limit them to ONE card. That's just outrageous, i guess.

they need to pass a drug test to get their welfare too...most of the taxpayers providing the money that goes to them have to.

That has already proven to be an abject failure in Florida and other states who have attempted this as well. Last statistics have conclusively proven less than 4% of welfare recipients tested positive for drugs. If you'd like the info, I'd be happy to supply you with this.

Also, in Florida Rick Scott gave the pharmaceutical company he was president of (his wife is now listed as owner just prior to his election) the contract to perform this task. this is a company that paid one of the largest fines in U.S. history - 1.7 billion dollars - and Scott under examination regarding his company took the 5th 75 times / yes, 75 times while under oath for his company's transgressions.

Now here's the kicker - if you don't test positive, you get reimbursed, but the company that performed the testing still receives funds for "services rendered" regardless of the outcome. In the end, it cost's more to do this.

so you're saying there should be no accountability, just show up and get your free shit? Should they have to show ID or just 'say' who they are? If my truck drivers have to pass drug tests to work and pay taxes, why should welfare recipients not have to? The questions get tougher.

At some point, when the people who are paying taxes have to pass drug tests to hold their jobs, and the welfare mama's do not have to be tested to get their freebies, and we know there is massive fraud, we will begin electing TEA party people who want responsibility in these welfare programs, the Democrats will see we mean business, and will nominate responsible candidates.

Truck drivers are on public roads, and could kill a whole lot of people / big difference. You would not own said company if your driver was on drugs, not screened, killed people, and the families came after your company - and you know this.

I instituted a drug screening policy as an OM at a company I ran in 1993 - reasoning behind it was lower insurance rates for the company as well as lower medical insurance rates for the employees. Everybody wins in this scenario.

The people in need do in fact have to show documentation of whom they are - SS#, address, license if they have one, bank accounts, job records etc.

I've shown you verifiable proof that drug screening in fact cost more than not doing this - and the very politicians in favor of this were in fact scamming the system by having their own wives, as owner of said pharmaceutical company, given the contract to perform these tests.

It's not the poor f'ing you over - it's the politicians trying to convince you of its necessity. All making money on the taxpayers expense.

In order to reduce waste everyone who gets a government check from the S S recipient to the lowly welfare receiver should have to show a picture updated every 5 years to cash a government check, or get a government credit card.
