The truth is that Obamas ideology,
(Save the down trodden) got the better of him.
Putin played it right but I wouldn't call it a master stroke.

I call it Obamas misguided mindset.

Nothing. Ukraine has own radical muslims in Crymea, also as muslim students inside country.
Ukraine is very weak in a sense of a security and doesnot ready to any attack.

Could it be that Putin does not want the world to see Cyrillic characters on the eapons???

He MUST be planning to gain someting by the move. Putin NEVER does anything for altruistic reasons. It is always "What will I get out of it?"

BTW-- could these be the saame weapons that Bush was put down for not finding when he took out Sadm??

Putin did make a smart move...the only one where he wouldn't lose.

if he did nothing, he would have lost his only ally and only military base outside the former USSR states...

the russian military minister stated their warships were not there to engage the US if they carried out their attack. they do not have that power.

yes, putin took his only way out that wasn't lose lose, but it is still a back down from the threat of the US standing alone from across the planet...not much of the US being owned in any way to assume from that....

reality is fun!

Russia are the only ones who can handle the disposal of Syria's WMD's, and they want their base in Northern Syria, And Obama will threaten force while congress votes against war for the first time in history. I predict the "Giveaway" was at the G20 (we'll soon find out what the bribe was). Russia does the work of disposal, France does the no-fly, Nato does the troops and inspectors.

WMD's out of the picture, muslims keep killing each other.

end result

1. Russia will keep their base.

2. We'll put the European Missile defense in the mid-east instead of Germany.

3. Split up Syria and re-do the cold war (a fake war that scares many and enriches a few..)

Now, Putin gets the north in return for bombing Kosovo and Chechnya (by Christmas is my next bet).

there’s was snippet in the NYT recently that suggests why Russia is so concerned about events in Syria. The amalgam of Islamists that is assembling to fight Assad appears to include a healthy contingent of radical-right Islamists from Chechnya, and they’re reportedly among the toughest fighters in the anti-Assad coalition. Their contingent, according to the Times, led the assault that took control of a Syrian air force base in the country’s northern sector.

Well, I'm glad somebody is concerned about Syria becoming a jihadist safe haven because we sure as hell aren't.

That f_kg Erdogan probably hopes he can use those fanatics to solve his Kurdish problem. He probably turned on Assad because he refused to deal with the Kurds like Saddam did.

Stop complaining. If you're so worried about Crimean Tatars, then give the Crimea back to Russia. You can't have your cake and eat it too, after all.
