Actually, Thomas Jefferson authored a law that all homosexuals be castrated,(b) slavery is legal in the US Constitution, as is made explicit; and (c) this idea of (radical) equality is so new, even the Great Books of the Western World (1950s) don't include it in their famous Synopticon of Great Ideas.
School's out.
The mentioning of slavery in the Constitution only references the abolishment of the practice in the 13th Amendment, all other references are related to and identified as those held in bondage for the purpose of apportioning representatives to congress in the first article of the Constitution.

Thomas Jefferson was a fallible individual. His proposal for criminal prosecution for sodomy stood on the Virginia law books for centuries. However the crime of Sodomy in Virginia was never exclusive to homosexuals. Jefferson like Congress and other politicians after him have held similar beliefs of regulating the sexual liaisons between consenting adults that became State laws and subsequently have been over turned thorough out history as violations of the Constitutional protections that American citizens enjoy.

Other wise as have been learned, because Jefferson said and practiced certain idea doesn't make them right or not in contrast to the fundamental Constitutional protections in America.

Jefferson was also a practicing pedophile in having impregnated a 14 year old slave. That is a clear indication he was having sex with the child when she was 13 years old.

There's a lot to be said about Jefferson's character and what he actually stood for and against when it comes to the definition of liberty, freedom and god's natural law for man, a saying he was fond of spouting out.

Actually, fishy, the one who is angry is YOU. You come on here with your anti-gay diatribes, stomping your teeny little feetsies, knowing full well that you're blowing a LOT of hot air.

Your homework for the weekend is to look up the following: Michelangelo, King James I, President James Buchanan, Walt Whitman, Tchaikovsky, Alexander the Great, Peter the Great, Clara Barton, Sir John Gielgud, Leonard Bernstein, and Bayard Rustin.

Guess what? They were all GAY, and all contributed alot of good to the world. Have mommy help you with the words over two syllables.

The poster presented half of the information. Virginia used to have a sodomy law credited to Thomas Jefferson from a proposal drafted in 1770, before the adoption of the US Constitution and the conclusion of the Revolutionary war.

Sodomy was a crime in Virginia but never exclusive to homosexuals, the Sodomy law has been stricken from the books as there is no efficient way to justify regulating consenting sex between consenting adults.

But Jefferson based on DNA confirming him fathering children with a 14 year old slave girl had some questions about his sexual perversion.

So it's a case of the Fox guarding the Hen house.

It's not surprising that only half the info is given, if they told the truth the trolls wouldn't have anything to discuss.
I'm aware of what sodomy laws were, how they were implemented and whom was targeted, and the fact that even married couples were not immune to those laws.

Probably, and likely not all Democrats are gay, but in this country only about 2.5% of our people are homosexual. From all the noise they make you would think there are more, but there are not. It doesn't matter. They still can't dictate social norms. Personally, I could care less what they do, or how they spend their leisure time. I believe all of us will be judged on that last day, and I can only handle my own sins without preaching about others. At the same time I don't want them preaching to me either. They seem to think they have some special privilege. If we were smart we would just ignore them, as well as any other people we disagree with, mind our own business, and force them to mind theirs.

there lies the problem, "if you were smart and less arrogant" No matter their numbers in America they're American Citizens protected under the same Constitution that you are. That's the only point. No one group is more important than the next group and our laws are greater than any single individual man.

Robertson isn't wrong for his opinions but neither is his ex employer for choosing to disassociate with him based on his core spiritual beliefs.

A&E & GLADD's problem is the 1st amendment & Phil Robertson exercising his 1st amendment right to his beliefs and another thing there is more heterosexual people who share the same view as Phil Robertson then there is in the LGBT community who are trying to push their lifesytle onto other people by promoting it on TV programs which should be removed & banned too.

A&E already proved it is and I hope the rest of the Robertson Family tells A&E to pack it since Phil expressed his opinion about the LBGT Community and how he feels about them which a majority of americans feel the same way that the LBGT lifesytle is not normal.

A&E has every right to not be associated with a Bigot.
Has 'political correctness' gotten hyper sensitive?
Surely.
However you teabagging freaks are at some point going to have to wrap your heads around the fact it isnt 1954 anymore and it never will be.
Get a clue.
Freedom of Speech doesnt mean Freedom from consequences.

That is simply not true. If there was a way to identify a homosexual deviant in the womb, there wouldn't be any homosexuals. No one wants a homosexual offspring, except the homosexuals torturing and sodomizing children in their pornography films.

Remember the Teabagging freaks are liberals like you but prefer the Old Left Liberalism besides the bigots are the LBGT Community which has already been established years ago and A&E is confirming they are one of them and A&E knew that the Robertson Family holds to christian values and not LBGT bigtory.

Running for cover my ass.
Who cares about the Faux Outrage of a bunch of beer drinking trailer park trolls who make up 'Duck Dynasty's' viewership?
The show sucked anyway.
Apparently you seem to be blank on what it portends for the future of your Wallmart grade Fascist Friends if all these 2016 Repub 'hopefuls' are so bankrupt for ideas they are once again thinking that pandering to the ever-shrinking halt and lame teabagger 'base is going to avail them.
Courting the fringe looneytoon vote made them unelectable in 2012 and it will be worse in 2016.
Theyve learned NOTHING.

Ask yourself the question. What this guy said, did it take away the freedoms and liberties of the gay and lesbian groups? Did it cause a harm to their freedom and liberty?
Answer is No.
Just as you have the right to say what you want to who you want as long as what you say does not take away the freedoms and liberties of the other individuals. He has the same right.
So you go blow it out your ass.
Of course it's hate speech..Go on national TV and say something anti Christian..see the responses you get...And yes in the long run it does take away freedoms. It perpetuates bigotry and discrimination and gives such behavior the OK..You're a moron to think otherwise.

Rationalizing blather. Discriminating against Robertson is hate speech against Christianity, as he only stands for what Scripture clearly says. The attacks on Christian Scripture are often heard in various media. Pretending homosexuality is not akin to bestiality is thumbing one's nose at the Word of God, is blaspheming God.
