Who cares? It is THEIR bodies, and they have a right to form an image in their mind and work to achieve their dream look. There is nothing political about this, but control freaks (presumably men) want to turn this into that and twist innocent desires to look as one wants into something dirty or racist. Shame on them!

Hey WP tan and use bronzers all the time and are not accused of being race traitors or wanting to be Black by other WP. Similar goes for WW who get lip enlargements or malar (cheek) implants, etc.

No WP, AFAIK, is so racist as to think a WP getting perms, tans, or surgery is trying to be Black. Yet who accuses BP accuse of such things all the time? So who is more racist? Do WP have more of a problem of WP looking Black, or do BP have more of a problem with BP looking White?

Dark skin is not a problem for Black men, today or Indian men. It was in the past, but not in today's world.

It's okay to bleach parts of the skin that have exaggerated discoloration, like age spots or acne marks, but to bleach one's entire skin is sad and ridiculous.

It's as ridiculous and wrong for a Black, Indian, Latin, etc woman to bleach her skin as it is for a White, Latin, etc. one to TAN hers.

People should not do much to their natural selves. Yes, people do these things, but it isn't good.

I realize that a Black man who loves a Black woman is a strange thing to someone like you, but it exists and did exist.

Not all women look alike and there is nothing wrong with Black women, just those people who feel that all women need blonde hair and White skin or whatever.

Being Caucasian, I've tried to tan for years. I have some regrets as that has caused skin texture changes. That said, everyone's skin belongs ONLY to that person, and they should have the right to exercise their autonomy. It is immoral and wrong to care what OTHER PEOPLE *CHOOSE* to do to their bodies. If you don't like it, leave them alone.

And yes, the beige skin I was born with is a beautiful color.

No it has nothing to do with low self-esteem. These women have high enough self-esteem to dream, create visions for themselves, and achieve them. It takes high self-esteem to be willing to make sacrifices to realize your dreams and to recreate yourself in your own image. Self-hating people don't do that. Leave it to BP to twist having high enough self-esteem to want to create visions of yourself and achieve them with self-hate.

You are NOT your body. The real you lives inside your body, and if you love yourself inside, you will want others to see who you are on the outside.

BTW, as a WW, I wouldn't mind having a few Black features, but that would be purely for my own edification, not to attract partners, and not out of self-hate.

The whole point here is self-autonomy, and for each individual to act as an individual and express themselves as they want. The more the Black community opposes BW doing this, this is all the reason for them to do it more to reclaim their autonomy and shake off the shackles that the Black community's has placed on them - all for racist reasons. To say that BP *have to* act this way or that or avoid certain behaviors "just because they are Black" is to be a racist. If BP won't tolerate WP telling them how to be, they should not tolerate it from their own kind either.

You speak worse "Ebonics" that the BP you mock. If you are going to be a White racist, then be a proud and intelligent one instead of making all of us WP look bad.

BTW, "Winfrey" is not a cultivar of okra.

No it is not. It is *THEIR* skin and it is wrong to care, IMHO.

If you support natural so much, then we should outlaw deodorant. After all, stench and decay are the natural order of things. We should outlaw schools as ignorant is the natural order of things. We should repeal all laws since violence and chaos are the natural order of things.

Hey, lets outlaw surgery, since that is an unnatural intervention and an artificial prolongation of life. Lets ban medical devices too since natural is so good. Death and disease is the natural order of things. Nobody is born with pacemakers, stints, artificial hips/knees, eyeglasses, braces, sutures, dentures, etc.

Lets flip off the computer, since all the technology in the computer is not natural. You can't pull them off of trees. Plus the power to run them is not natural. Natural electricity comes from the clouds when they produce lightning. But we make electricity from burning oil/coal and polluting the environment. Or we unnaturally split atoms to generate energy and put everyone in the world at risk from the radiation.

If natural is so good, then why don't we all take poison, since many poisons are natural? Lead, tin, arsenic, and antimony are natural elements found in the soil, but we don't ingest those.

This is similar to debunking the pro-gay argument of "animals do it too." Yes, some animals in nature do what appear to be same-sex sexual acts. But they also eat dung (their own and that of others), rape (watch cats do it and tell me that is consensual), kill other animals they don't like (murder), eat their own kind (cannibalism), kill and eat their own babies, commit incest, etc. Male monkeys have been known to masturbate openly (there are videos of this on YouTube), and if a human were to do this, they would go to jail and have to register as a sex-offender. So natural is not always good.

The comparison is in the autonomy part. If WP can tan, then BP can bleach. If WP can make their lips larger, BP can make their noses longer and narrower. The goal isn't to look less like a BW at all.

It is like the hair argument. Relaxed hair is still textured and doesn't reflect light the same as Caucasian hair. So BW don't relax it to look like WW, since that result is impossible. They simply like the look and feel, or they have practical reasons. Even micros are practical, since then BW don't have to deal with them for several months.

Even MJ didn't bleach his skin. No, he developed vitiligo. Then he used makeup to cover the unaffected skin. I don't know if he used the treatment that exists to permanently kill the rest of his melanocytes or not. That is one way to deal with with vitiligo. If you cannot get your dark color back and you have a large percentage of it gone, the easiest treatment is to get rid of the rest of the pigment. If it is tiny areas only, a little tattoo ink or makeup can help to make the color match better.

Tanning isn't "blackening".
But,...bleaching IS "whitening".

NO comparison, no matter HOW much this simple fact infuriates you.

Again, the only comparison is that it is something people choose to do. The direction of the change is irrelevant, since EVERY race has the SAME color and you are not your race, but worth more than that. You hate personal autonomy and each person having control over their body. That is the ONLY point that matters. It is immoral to care what others do to their OWN bodies. You don't own other people, so you have no right to tell them what to wear or do to their bodies.

A change of color is a change of color regardless of who is doing it. Change is change is change. Either ALLOW tanning AND bleaching or BAN BOTH. Either is okay. If a WP has the right to get darker, than an BP has the inherent right to get lighter, all by personal whim and without regards to others.

So you are a RACIST. If BP and WP are EQUAL, then both should have the SAME rights to control and change their own looks. If BP are as valid as WP, then BP have the right to look like them if they want, and without ANY criticism. To attack ANY BP for looking anywhere close to White is just another way of expressing racism, violence, hate, and abuse against WP. If you don't want WP to hate you, then you have to stop hating them. Rights are earned by behavior (not self-expression).

Now that is racist. They just like the feel of relaxed hair on their body in and of itself without any regard to racial politics. Women don't typically dress for others, nor to prove anything, nor for any reason related to race.

Any man who tells women what to do with their skin has the heart of a rapist. They are hypocrites too. The very men who demand that BW be stripped of all personal autonomy in terms of looks are the very ones who chase after the WW who are immoral enough and stupid enough to be with BM. So they want to deprive BW of what they prize in WW. SMDH!
