If there were job openings we would not have unemployment at over 7%. You people are so naïve.. You are too stupid to have the vote.

stop sending gas taxes to Washington, they don't maintain or build roads, the states do. don't you get around on your grandpa's Unicycle?
Actually unicycles don't do well in the snow, but I did just get back from my morning bike ride- even though it's 15 degrees and snowing.

Millions huh? Not in Chicago, and surrounding counties. Again if there were millions of job openings we wouldn't have unemployment higher then 7% for five years straight. Even the mentally challenged can figure that out.

Or maybe, just maybe we have made the unemployed so comfortable with their laying around, they really won't choose to work any more. Yes, that must be it. I rather believe you are lying about the millions of jobs.

What part of "nationwide" didn't you comprehend?

That's a big reason all those jobs are available inspite of the high unemployment- too many are too stupid or lack the skills to qualify for the job.

Also, many are just plain lazy and choose to receive their unemployment welfare checks instead of getting a job. Why work for 40 hrs a week when the govt will pay you almost as much just to sit on your ass drinking beer & watching tv.

The stupid ones were educated by those incompetent Union Teachers. It was done on purpose so the Democrats would have so many more lo info voters. Now since the Government isn't giving them everything they want they will sit home to spite the plantation operators. The poor dumb gimmee, gimmee people are as tired of being lied to as the other people.

My point exactly.
The gas tax is a perfect example of a use tax.
So is a mileage tax.
So are toll roads.
All 3 should be used in combination to finance our roads.
how would a mileage tax differ from the gas tax? when will greedy, obnoxious bikers start paying their share?

In the Denver Post barely a page. When Reagan was president there was 13 pages worth. Why isn't the food stamps crowd decreasing?

Try google- it can explain the difference for you.

A big difference is a mileage tax would be imposed by the state, and all the money generated would be used within the state.

A mileage tax also allows the state to collect money from those who live close to a border and buy their gas cheaper in the next state but drive primarily in their state of residence.

When not driving, I still pay local property & sales taxes, of which a portion goes to road maintenance.

Try googling employment services if you can't find a job in the local paper.

The food stamp crowd isn't decreasing because we keep giving them free money.
