The first-in-the-nation law was passed by the Texas Legislature in 2001 with Perry's support. Perry says the bill has enabled thousands of additional students to get a college education, but some of his Republican opponents have condemned the law, saying it rewards illegal behavior.
"The intent of the law was to have more kids go to college," said Noriega, who is now president and CEO of Avance, a nonprofit organization that promotes educational advancement in at-risk Hispanic communities. "It's been incredibly successful."
Perry, he said, "recognized that it was good public policy, and it has been."
The law, which has since been emulated in other states, makes in-state tuition available for children of illegal immigrants who have lived in the state for three years, graduated from a Texas high school and sign an affidavit that they will get on track to get legal residency and U.S. citizenship.
Thanks, gringo Perry.
Poor teabagger.
"Poor teabagger"?

The real tragedy is for American children. The Left forcing their parents to underwrite "special deals" for Illegal Aliens at the direct expense of American families.

American kids being forced to pay Out of State Tuition while Kids those Parents are in the Country Illegally get In State Tuition subsidized by American parents. Thus putting their OWN kids at a disadvantage.

The ongoing nightmare of Democratic politician actions which crush the hopes and Dreams of the children of those ignorant enough to Vote Democrat is truly tragic.

Reality, there is no negotiation with a pure bread progressive. None! You always get a far flung answer or it thrown against you. If a racial crime is committed against you, it is your fault by these foolish sheep. they are the tools and fools of Saul Alinsky and it has served them well. they have guilted us into unseen territory in our history financially, economically, politically and constitutionally. the hard nosed progressive only knows agenda. And there are a growing amount of people now having enough of it. Your post as some sense in it. But sense gets in the way of agenda. And the agenda has America on the brink.

It does prove that today's American citizens are truly pathetic excuses for Citizens and Parents that "Rights" for Illegal aliens is even allowed to come up in a discussion. The ONLY " Right" ANY Illegal has is humanitarian treatment during the Deportation Process. Period.
