Unfortunately Congress forgot about being consulted 'for some time'.

In fact they are waiting to be briefed about something they were supposedly to have PRE-KNOWLEDGE of.

No wonder Obama is trying to DEFEND himself for what he has done (and blame Congress at the same time)

No defense needed, Chubby.

It isn't something a big fat lardazz who has never served this country would understand: a president can jump in as he or she needs to save the lives of Americans and they have done so since Washington.

Saving an American who was AWOL (not a POW) and aided the enemy, in EXCHANGE for releasing ENEMIES OF THE STATE ... isn't even being understood by people who served WITH the guy.

But YOU understand this ....??

From the article... "Officials said delaying Bergdahl's transfer in order to comply with the congressional notification rules would have interfered... "

Honest, we told them, your honor..
Well, we didn't actually tell them, but we had a very good reason: "Because such interference would significantly alter the balance between Congress and the president."

Imagine what would happen if the people's representatives were able to balance, even delay, Presidential overreach. Why, next thing you know, democracy would occur!

The criminal overreach of the Administration on numerous levels would have caused an uproar if a non-Marxist had performed them. We see them excuse the most outrageous behavior of this President, even as he proclaims his right to assassinate US citizens at will. Then, without blushing, they defend him for giving Taliban war criminals of the most horrible nature back to kill more Americans, while he embraces more anti-Americanism from a deserter teaching the enemy how to make bombs. He'll summarily kill Americans he doesn't like, but fake a rescue of probably another queer, who's own traitor father would probably have killed now that his queer nature is being exposed.

This is the new America, where Leftist scum excuse any crime, any support of enemies they do.

Republican staffers are not Congress. Even you should know that.
Besides, the White House already apologized for not informing Congress in accordance with the law.

Just imagine the uproar if this soldier had died while the commander in chief had a way to get him out.

If you want to live in a country where the head of the government has to kiss everyone's azz before coming to a decision, move to France.

Or vote Republican.

That put by your estimate the Taliban and Bush par with each other. Bush is a Fugitive War Criminal. Unable to travel internationally

Yeah, right....
"Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss said the administration violated the law by failing to address serious concerns they had about the deal to swap Bergdahl for five Taliban detainees. Chambliss said he had not had a conversation with the White House about a possible exchange for at least 18 months."

He did apologize.

WASHINGTON (AP) The White House has apologized to key lawmakers for not notifying them in advance about the exchange of five Taliban detainees for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl (boh BURG'-dahl).

Sens. Dianne Feinstein of California and Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, the top Democrat and Republican respectively on the Senate Select committee on Intelligence, said White House officials called them Monday to say the lack of notification had been an oversight. Feinstein said she received a call from Deputy National Security Adviser Tony Blinken.

The White House did not immediately comment on the calls.

The White House damage control comes as Republican lawmakers accused the White House of putting U.S. service men and women at risk by releasing the five top Taliban members being held in Guantanamo in exchange for Bergdahl.

It is already on Topix.
