She is not the first and will not be the last. Those who do not bow to the intolerance of the fabian socialist agenda will be jailed or worse. It is ironic (and somehow fitting) that this woman is an elected Democrat.

I'm a bit lost on the 'free Kim Davis' thing. She's already free to go, and she doesn't even have to issue same-sex licenses. All se has to do is not interfere with the deputy clerks issuing them. She chose to go to jail. So the people with the 'Free Kim Davis' signs are ..... well, for lack of a better term .... stupid.

She was elected to the position of county clerk and is responsible for the actions of her subordinates. She is putting conscience ahead of public pressure. I don't throw the word hero around lightly, but she is the greatest hero in American history.

You didn't get it Sweet cakes. Both county clerks are Democrats, but only one is trying to protect her first Amendment rights. This is just the kind of problem the same sex marriage people wanted to avoid. This is headed back to the Supreme Court

There is nothing in the Constitution about gay marriage. Marriage was defined enturies ago. This is going back to the Supreme Court, and it will be looked at again.

Why would we care about avoiding it? Nothing pertaining to Davis will affect the fact that same-sex marriage is legal. The only thing involved in what's occurring in Rowan County is in seeing that the civil rights of the couples in the county are legally given to them.

Same-sex marriage is legal. A Court Clerk in a government office is refusing to follow the law and that's already been ruled on. And, in addition, the separation of government and church has been in existence for longer than Davis has been in office. Why would the Supreme Court waste their time with something when they know they won't change the ruling of the US District Judge. There's no illegalities concerning Judge Bunning's ruling.

You think resisting giving civil rights to others is something new? There were people that also resisted against the Civil Rights Act, making interracial marriage legal, and even giving women the right to vote.

Well, if she was free to, she would have left, the judge will not permit her release until she signs the marriage licenses so they are valid, none of the ones issues are legally valid.

Her release has nothing to do with interfering with her clerks.

There is NO, hate, she did her job, she was treating everyone equally, so her detention appears to be unlawfull as well.

I forgot an important one. There was also strong resistance in the bible-belt states against desegregation of public schools.

And when she was elected to office a marriage was between one man and one woman, the law reads the same today, your hatred and bigotry are clouding your judgment.

This with Davis isn't about religious isms. It's Davis and her followers exhibiting bigotry. Religion is just being used as an excuse to try and justify that bigotry against gays, and as a tool to attempt to keep equal rights from them. Religion shouldn't be used for subjugation, discrimination, or refusing civil rights.
