I don't have the omnipotent power to view the history of mankind, but if you bothered to do your own (objective) research, I'm sure you would learn something.

Consider your question answered.

Only if you can admit that there is no evidence to back up he Noah arc story...... Since you conveniently abandoned our discussion about that.
I have shown you the ongoing investigations. Here's more.

You didn't answer anything. Is this the first time marriage has been between two people of the same sex?

You said there was evidence. Investigations have yielded no evidence to support the noahs arc story.

Why is it so difficult for you to accept that you are and were incorrect?

Is that so? Would you please explain why the loving religion of Christianity determined to create new law which including executing those married in same sex unions a few hundred years after Jesus supposedly preached tolerance, acceptance, and love for all?

There was evidence of fresh water shellfish going back some 7500 years and salt water shellfish going back 5000 years or so. That indicates a flood may have happened, but they do not know if it was something all at once or gradual.

That was the main point in the article you linked, Ink.

So has the church, then, since men can no longer buy wives or marry more than one. Which "original" definition did you mean, because even 20th-century marriage was NOTHING like it was even in the supposed time of christ.

Definitions of most words have changed to some extent over time. So has the church--or did vatican 2 not happen?

In terms of SSM, WE didn't change the definition you're thinking of--lawyers and lawmakers did, and damn near all of them were straight.

Yes they have indeed changed the original definition.

Well, there are the polygamists who say they are married when they clearly are not, legally. There are people who are married to their jobs, to an idea, and even to the mob. These are social changes, not legal ones. And the dictionaries reflect that. Dictionaries are authoritative concerning usage, not application.

If civil rights didn't mean blacks, too, then why did they have so much trouble getting their rights accepted? Why was it a legal issue if the meaning has always included minorities?

Because, just like your question, the answer is the same: Sometimes laws have to change to reflect the continuing enlightenment of society. Our founders recognized that there would and should be changes over time.

No, they have not. There was never just one meaning.

Because of religious bigots who think their beliefs should hold sway in the public sphere, and are outraged that they can't anymore. The definition hasn't changed, merely the dominance of Christianity.

The wonderful thing is that a large majority of young people, our leaders of the very future, don't have these nonsensical prejudices against gay people to which these bigots desperately cling. Soon, SSM will be a non-issue.

Really? You know this for a fact? And this person just happened to not die in the flood? And knew how to read an write? Or found someone to procreate with, who also did not die, to pass on this story in the oral tradition?

There is evidence of extreme climate shifts, changes in the direction of the magnetic poles and and several transformations to the continents after they started as one large continent. Science provides concrete evidence of these changes while your religion only offers it's usual "cuz we say so" evidence.

I wouldn't be too enthusiastic about claiming the flood story as real since it shows very clearly what a mass murdering [email protected] your God really is.
