Most Popular

Today's most popular Washington Post story offers plenty of evidence that Obama's ratings are the most polarized of any president in the last 60 years.

However, the story suggests that Obama himself isn't to blame:

“That may not be a reflection on Obama himself as much as on the current political environment in the United States, because Obama’s immediate predecessor, Bush, had similarly polarized ratings, particularly in the latter stages of his presidency after the rally in support from the 9/11 terror attacks faded” [concludes Gallup’s Jeffrey Jones.]

Weigh in: Why do you think Americans are so polarized over Obama's presidency? Is he to blame?

The story's authors, Chris Cilliza and Aaron Blake, add that "while it’s easy to look at the numbers cited above and conclude that Obama has failed at his mission of bringing the country together, a deeper dig into the numbers in the Gallup poll suggests that the idea of erasing the partisan gap is simply impossible, as political polarization is rising rapidly."

If there was no fox news and right-wing radio spewing racism, misinformation and lies 24/7 then the divide in this country wouldn’t be the way it is.
Case in point: the story just above this one about the First Lady.

I believe that the majority of Americans will reject this hate by re-electing President Obama. But if he isn’t, then the that means the evil forces that desperately need to keep this nation divided has won.

Because Americans are increasingly stupid, ignorant, easily manipulated, and extreme, even violent in their opinions. They don't just object to abortion - they want dead abortion doctors and blown-up clinics. They don't just feel patriotic about the military, they want other nations turned into parking lots with American flags over them. They don't just feel dubious about the government, they want to kill it. And so on.

Obama's such a bland, centrist President it's hard to believe there's this much division about his Presidency, but given that the whole political culture is one of violent confrontation, maybe it's not so hard to believe. Raving nutjobs branding him a "socialist," a "Marxist," or a "Kenyan Muslim" simply aren't intellectually equipped to discuss real issues.

Pathetic, but it's all part of America's decline.

The scary thing is that so soon after 9/11, the voters would elect a muslim friendly political rookie, with a muslim middle name, who has been, and continues to be surrounded by tax cheats, radicals, racists, crooks, socialists and other such deviants.

now that the non taxpayers outnumber, and outvote the taxpayers, bad things are gonna happen fast.

Americans, like many other peoples, are ignorant of the political process and the substantive issues that shape the world they live in. People seek a scape goat, or a savior, to vent emotion rather than understanding and rational treatment of the problems they face. Americans are easily manipulated. The sitting President, any president, is the focus of worship or hate. Obama, being mixed race, having an unsual name and being in power in a time when the living standard of most Americans is degernerating it particularly hated.

Being African-American, Obama had the immediate hatred of millions of American from the get-go.
His color is the reason the tea party seemed to appear out of nowhere. The hicks, hillbillies, country bumpkins and white-trash GOP minions needed a good reason to form ranks. Obama gave them one.

Blacks file Class Action Racial Discrimination Suit Against Obama & Democrats.

On September 11, 2011, blacks from the West Coast and the East Coast joined together and signed one of the most comprehensive legal briefs ever prepared on racial discrimination, then filed their brief September 12th, at 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time in US District Court in Seattle (Case No. C11 - 1503). The plaintiffs, who refer to the defendants as "Father of Racism," allege that as an organization, the Democratic Party has consistently refused to apologize for the role they played in slavery and Jim Crow laws

Up yours, rascist.

Hold on there a minute. I happen to be one of those hillbilly's and I voted for Obama and I'm going to vote for him again. Not a racist either but there are some where I'm from that are republican that are racist to the core, and the only way they would have voted for an african-american would have been if herman cain had stayed in the race because he is a republican. These republicans spew the same ole spew abortions and voting for a muslim, they forget that rominey is a mormon. I could care less.

Why do you think Americans are so polarized over Obama's presidency?

Because he is narcissistic self centered marxist clown.

Is he to blame?

Probably not, just look at who he had for parents and who his associates were and are.
