Yeah, that one piqued my curiosity too.

Of course, the real issue here is getting gunned down by a madman, rather than succumbing to a normal death at an older age.

The issue is that there was yet another mass murder — not President Obama.
I do understand, however, that you have a generally negative opinion of President Obama. You have alluded to, but not reported, information that would support your negative opinion — not that it would be germane to this discussion about the mass murder episode.
Actually, the shooting is the fault of the Republicans:

As for Obama, if you like him, it's been a great 5 years regardless of what ever data maybe presented.
.
The best comparison maybe with the 1st 5 years with George W. Bush, where everything was going to hell in hand basket despite great similarities between the 2 administrations, yet under Obama it's a grand new day.

BAD, bad, bad week for Obama:

1) Suspect was black...Obama cant say its the angry white man like he loves to do.

2) Suspect passed federal background check and was given an entrance pass for a secure military facility. Obama cant say "This is why we need back ground checks"..He passed Obama's background check.

3) Suspect used a shotgun, NOT an AR15 to kill the victims. Yes, he used the weapon old Biden said is the only one americans should be allowed to have...

This coming on the heals of Obama getting 8itch slapped by Putin in front of the entire world....

What is heartening is that the progressive fool was a bad shot. Could have murdered so many more. Fencewalkers...understand your enemy. For there is an excellent chance it is going to be one of these fools. Be safe and prepare!

What’s not to like about President Obama? He’s accomplished so much with so little cooperation and so many efforts to undermine his efforts. I am indeed amazed by his service, thanks to his exceptional intelligence, personal stability and political skill. Obama haters can only allude to his “failed policies” while being unable to specify any failed policy. Most people would crumble under the daily beating that he takes on our behalf.

Republican economic policy indeed created an incredible deficit and widening of the wealth gap, while President Obama’s Keynesian-inspired policy has effectively led us to recovery from that deficit. He understands FDR’s wisdom.

While I blame the Republicans for wasting America driven solely their zeal to oppose every effort of President Obama, I cannot blame them for adhering to their conservative economic principles, as exercised by President Bush, even though the policy did fail. Live and learn. At least they were doing what they thought best. Now, they are behaving like spoiled children compelled to defy their parents. That’s different.

The gun ban on the base was from the Clinton era.

Liberal idealism at work.
.
The news conference with the Wash DC Democrat motley crew that runs the city going on about how great the system worked is a prime example of the disconnected thinking of these people.

Obama wants to arm the Syrian rebels, but our troops on a US base... hell no! You can't trust them with guns.

I'd say Obamacare is a failed policy.
.
I'd say after 5 years the slow economic growth is a failed policy.
.
I'd say the ever growing federal debt while he wants to give out more freebies is a failed policy.
.
I'd say the decline of the American image abroad is a failed policy. The only people that still like us if a few dinosaur European left wingers and a few Africans hoping for some goodies.
.
I'd say Libya, Egypt and Syria are failed policies.
.
His inability to deal with race relationships are a failed policy.
.
I'd say pandering to immigration groups while American unemployment grows is a failed policy.
.
That he said in 2008 Americans have had it too good while he party downs is a failed policy.

Ooops-

.
Oh, his running and crying on the shoulders of college students instead of doing the hard work of creating policy with the Republicans is a failed policy.

There is some question that one of the guns was taken from a police officer at the scene.

Perhaps this information will be in the next NRA propaganda spew?

And maybe if the military personnel had guns on them, the death count would have been 1 instead of 13 :)

That is how most black men get their guns. They steal them, this guy just happened to shoot the cop before he stole the gun. Now we have to understand this guy was a lone demented shooter.
