If you follow the manufacturers recommendation for revolvers, it can not discharge if dropped. This is because they recommend keeping one cylinder chamber empty, in line with the hammer/firing pin.
As far as semi auto handguns, most have multiple failsafes built in to avoid accidental discharge. But again, the manufacturer recommends carrying the firearm with the chamber empty.
So you see, of you follow the manufacturer's recommendations, they don't have to provide recommendations on how to drop the firearm properly.
Now your point is that we have a lot of people carrying guns that either refuse to read the owners manual OR that completely disregard gun safety.

How does this support the notion of the responsible gun owner?

Your argument proves that gun owners recklessly disregard their own safety and the safety of others.

How about this, any gun owner caught not following the manufacturers instructions to include loading ammo loses their right to own a gun and load ammo.

I mean if they are proven to be willing to endanger themselves and others by not following the directions for safely carrying and storing a firearm then they should not be allowed to, should they?

Just as there are irresponsible car owners, lawn mower owners, kitchen knife owners, baseball bat owners. Shall we ban them all?

Since owning arms is a right like free speech shall we also remove that right from those misuse that right? Or better since some misuse that right we ban it from everyone. How about religion? The crusades, the inquisitions, burning witches, many wars are results from religion so shall we ban that right too? I would venture to say the death toll for religious reasons far exceed death by gun due to the thousands of years religious murders and executions. How many wars and deaths were started with words? Yes speech has caused more deaths by the millions over the gun. How about if you lie or say degrading things to others? I see you have no problem with free speech or the use of the internet to spread lies and propaganda. Care to be the first to give up that right?

Funny how many cars swerve and kill people. Opps I forgot to mention the drunk behind the wheel had nothing to do with it. The car killed and the condition or competence of the operator or operation of the car does not effect the car killing. Can a spoon make you fat? Not by just being a spoon but if you put food in it and put that spoon in your mouth it can. Shall we blame fat people on spoons? Your logic still fails. Your right to free speech is now revoked due to your willful misuse of it.

Dumbdazz: the US Constitution is the GUIDELINE for the laws here in the USA, perhaps you can stop here sometime and read up on it. Because a word is in there or not in there doesn't mean exact laws cannot be built around principles of that document.
The constitution doesn't have specific language about 1969 Corvettes, for example, nor does it contain the word "abortion" or even pregnancy.
Don't quit your day job, you aren't ready to litigate.
Incorrect, the US Constitution is the supreme law of the land. Any law in violation of the constitution may be struck down by the judicial branch.

A portion of article six
This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding

So what?

Sun rises in the east, sun sets in the west.

SCOTUS has upheld gun control laws many more times than not.

Doesn't keep the NRA from trying, as we can see.
