In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: "A democracy is always
temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until he time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous
gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy,(which is) always followed by a dictatorship."

Since at least the time of the New Deal, when organized labor gained a solid institutional foothold in the Democratic Party, liberals and activists have proposed that popular forces or “the left” can democratically take over the Democratic Party. If the left could accomplish this, the argument goes, it could transform the Democrats into a vehicle for progressive social change. This is very much on the agenda of a present-day embodiment of this idea, the Progressive Democrats of American seek a meaningful and progressive social welfare state

Not surprising you don't believe the report from the investigagion, you don't digest facts well. What did your investigation and examination of the evidence point you towards?
Razors Edge wrote:
FOX NEWS – A major report released Wednesday on the Operation Fast and Furious scandal faulted a range of federal agencies for the failed anti-gunrunning program — and has resulted in the resignation of one Justice Department official.
Jason Weinstein, the deputy assistant attorney general for the Criminal Division, is resigning in the wake of the Justice Department inspector general report on Fast and Furious. The report essentially concludes that he is the most senior department official who was in a position to stop Fast and Furious.
The nearly 500-page report was completed after investigators reviewed 100,000 documents and interviewed 130 people.
The reports also says that no one responsible for the case at ATF Phoenix or the U.S. Attorney’s Office raised a serious question or concern about the government not taking earlier measures to stop Fast and Furious.
CBS News provides more information, saying the report has cleared Holder of knowing about it:
The Justice Department’s inspector general cleared Attorney General Eric Holder and his top deputies Wednesday of knowing about the gunwalking operation known as Fast and Furious that allowed thousands of weapons to cross into Mexico, CBS Radio News reports.
Two of those weapons turned up at the scene where Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed during a shootout in 2010 with drug traffickers.
While the inspector general heaped most of the blame for Fast and Furious on investigators in Phoenix, one senior official, Jason Weinstein, is blamed for not acting to stop the tactics.
Weinstein resigned Tuesday night. His lawyer told CBS Radio News that the report was badly flawed.
Sorry, but I don’t believe Weinstein was the most senior official that knew about this. In fact, I honestly think it went all the way to Obama. I mean, we’re dealing with another country here for crying out loud.
Now that we believe all the way to Obama!!

Yes, we are going back to the days of limited government and more freedom. We are going back to the days of judge a man by what he does, not what he says. We are going back to equal protection and rights for everyone under the law, not just the socialist rights. Yes, we see the future of forward Marxism and we're going back.

At an October 19, 1998 conference at Loyola University, Barack Obama spoke against "propaganda" that said government doesn't work and the need to "pool resources and hence facilitate some redistribution because I actually believe in redistribution."

I don't believe President Obama will be re-elected.

Socialism encourages slothfulness.

When I was 16 years old I wanted my parents to purchase me a new care. They would not, my dad told me I had to work and save my money, and that I would take better care of a car if I had to pay for it myself.

I worked part time jobs until I earned enough to buy an old 1964 Dodge, and he was right I spent allot of time keeping that old car shiny and running good.

Many of my friends who's parents did buy them a new car didn't take care of it, and they became run down very quickly.

Excluding social security, and social security disability benefits. and people who are drawing their unemployment benefits legitimately. Other than that they should be diligently looking for employment. My mother told me one time, when you don't have a job, make it your job to find a job.

When I was honorably discharged from the US Army, the job market was bad, but I had a skill that allowed me to find a job rather quickly. It wasn't the perfect job, and it didn't pay the best, but at least I could feed my two children and my wife. I later found a better paying job, and I'm grateful to God I have it. I give the company a fair day's work for a fair day's pay. I come home dirty, tired, hot and sweaty. But I can sleep soundly know I gave it my best. If God forbid something happens to this job, I will be just a diligent at finding another job.

A good attitude, and a good work ethic is a rare thing for many people these days.

Romney was right when talking about the 47% that pay no federal income tax. I believe in a flat tax, everyone should pay SOME tax to help keep the government running, but the government needs to use our tax money wisely and their not.

Romney has nothing to apologize for period. On the other hand President Obama wants to take from the producers and give to the non producers. Why should I have to give my earnings to someone who won't even try to find a job.

How pathetic, but not unexpected. Still, the GOP is trying to gain some political traction on the graves of the Diplomat and his Security Personnel.

I knew there was not a shred of dignity on the right, but this is skunk urine low to paint the dead diplomat in the manner described above.
