Oct 3, 2013 Full story: Reuters 17

The shutdown of the U.S. government appeared likely to drag on for another week and possibly longer as lawmakers consumed day three of the shutdown with a stalling game and there was no end in sight until the next crisis hits Washington around Oct. 17. Bowing to the reality that the impasse requires him to remain in Washington, President Barack ... (more)

the Obamatollah has already threatened that veteran disability benefits and SS benefits will cease as of Oct 31st if the shutdown is not halted by congress fully funding his budget unconditionally and raising the debt ceiling unconditionally. Missing of course are any references to stop or even reduce any of his voter base or illegals benefits for his EBT, SNAP, section 8 housing, welfare and obamaphone freeloaders. The usual scapegoat of the liberal/commie base is always the elderly and veterans.

It's only money. Ink and paper/linen. What I cherish are the rights that come from our creator. Liberty is a rare commodity in human history. We are fortunate not to be slaves or subjects of a crown.

America has had many episodes of "inhumanity to our fellow man" in our history whether black, white, red, or yellow. Always do what you know is right. As an American citizen, you already know what that is! The Federal Reserve reminds us every day...E Pluribus Unum (Out of many, one).

I saw an article about a month ago that said the odds of being born are over 100 Trillion to one. We are only given about 29,000 days to make a difference to mankind. Is your legacy a heart attack at day 19,000 while watching Monday night football, or is it to offer others a path to prosperity and happiness?

Whether we were created by Allah or descended from Apes, we humans have been given the gift of awareness, reason, and compassion. Tough times are coming. Watch out for your family and neighbors and never forget you are Americans and I expect you all to act accordingly. Keep your humanity, keep your dignity, and avoid those who look to instill anger in place of reason.

John Boehner could end this shutdown today if
he wanted to. Just let the members of the House
have a vote on the Continuing Resolution.

But I forget, Republicans do not believe in letting people vote. They do not believe in the process.
That's why in every state they control they are
taking away the right to vote from as many minority
people as they possibly can.

The Founding Fathers complained about "taxation without representation." The Republicans never
got the message.

They live in American but do not share the values.

not much of a shutdown when they call all the furloughed employees back like they did today. only real visible shutdown is at the military memorials in DC. the military hater who supposedly the CIC of the armed forces is making the current active duty forces open their eyes wide to see what actually leads them and gives them a heads up of how they will be treated as vets. not the most brilliant move the kenyan muzzie is making, you don't pisz off the guys that control the really big guns.

None of this needs to be happening.

All Boehner has to do is let his fellow
Republicans in the House have a vote on the
Continuing Resolution and there would be
enough votes to pass it.

All the Democrats want to fund government
and would vote for it.
Some Republicans do too and together they
would be a majority.

But Boehner will not allow the vote.
He will not let his fellow Republicans
have a vote.

Not one Democrat is cheering for the shutdown,
but many Republicans are simply delighted.

Now, who wants government and who does not?
