Did the debt ceiling fight teach the tea party a lesson?

Feb 12, 2014 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Washington Post

Molly Ball ends her column on how tea party members of Congress, despite their best intentions, have finally learned how government works with this: This is how Washington works: Certain things have to get done, and you try to get the best deal you can, and then move on to the next thing.

You guys couldn't beat a black man after a full term of high unemployment and a stalled government. Bush left the worst recession in 50 years and the Republican party didn't have anybody who could even give Hussein Obama a decent fight.
Yep, didn't count on the big lies the IRS Scandal, and the MSM'S lies or the level of fraud.

There was an earlier identification of the bubble by another great group of economists at the Daily Reckoning as chronicled here in January 2004:

The housing bubble was projected to burst long before 2007 you moron - you just gloss over actual facts, while at the same time not acknowledging the fact that the Bush Tax Cust were passed TWICE utilizing reconciliation - democrats were not inclined to pass this unfunded measure, but of course, you forget what the facts truly are;

And you claim to know economics 101? You obviously don't know jack shit buddy! By 2007, the market was already seeing a deep drop - so you and your ilk's nonsense about the last two years of a democratic Congress causing this crisis is total BS!
if you GOP nuts were doing so damn good, why were you all booted in 2006? Quite obviously, because you sucked at your jobs - as you do to this day.

Where were you pookie when Johnson got 58, 500 killed in Viet Nam. Obama has killed more civilian women and children with his drone strikes than were killed in Iraq by a totally volunteer military.

LMAO!! Is that all you've got?

What about the 935 documented lies told by Bush and his cabinet leading up to the invasion? What about the fact that in 1993 Saddam Hussein tried to assassinate Bush's daddy in Qatar? Texas revenge is expensive. A bunch of chicken hawk cowboys is what they were.

Have you by any chance noticed that government spending is the least it's been in 30 years? Have you noticed that the DOW in the stock market is up 8000 points above what it was when Bush left office. Have you noticed that Bush left with the economy bleeding 750,000 jobs a month and since then over 2,000,000 new jobs have been created. Have you noticed that this has been done in spite of the fact that the Republican house has done absolutely nothing to support president Blackenstein? You people make me sick.

Have you noticed no interest rates on savings at the banks. have you noticed the massive increases in food, energy and other ways of living without comparable pay increases. Have you noticed the slide of tens of millions of people into working poverty and receiving government benefits. Have you noticed the printing of trillions and trillions of fiat dollar currency to prop up our economy as a deflationary depression is begging to be unleashed but a hyper inflationary depression may be our future. Have you noticed that even the president keeps calling this a recession after five years in office....

Not that you'll pay any attention and for that matter you probably won't even read it. You bastards talk about welfare and handouts. Everything is geared toward the rich and big business now.

In 1938 when amidst the depression unemployment was nearly 50% in west Tennessee. My daddy had a day job unloading skids for a box factory and ruptured himself lifting. The second day he missed they fired him. There were no unions, there was no health insurance, there was no such thing as time off.....you missed you were fired and there were ten men lined up to take your place. The first real job with a regular paycheck daddy ever had was as timekeeper on Roosevelt's WPA. He drew $3.60 a week....every week. When the war started he got a job sweeping floors at P&G's shell loading plant located at Milan Tennessee. After two years he had worked up to shift superintendent and they froze him in that position at that plant for the duration of the war. He heard of some hiring and recruiting being done for some kind of project in east Tennessee and went to Jackson, Tennessee to be interviewed on a
Saturday. He told the man interviewing him that he was frozen at the bomb plant and the guy said, "You're Not Frozen From This Job"

The rest is history. My dad moved to east Tennessee, Oak Ridge, to become a part of the Manhattan project. He worked there for 29 years and retired in 1973. I hired into the same group of plants in 1952 and worked there 41 years. From welfare to ultimate success. We all did what we did either directly or indirectly funded by the government.

Two of my three kids have master's degrees...one of them in systems engineering from VPI. I have eight wonderful, intelligent grandkids and one of them already has a college degree and two others are about to graduate.

Without help from the government my entire family might have been devastated. I know that if we had stayed in west Tennessee we would. What part of giving a man a helping hand is it you people don't understand?
