Its always entertaining to watch the wealth of companies deflect off the people who earn it(scientists, technologists, designers, builders, blue collars, secretaries, minimum wage earners), into the pockets of undeserving upper crust paper shufflers & people shovers, in the form of hundred million dollar stock option, bonus, & retirement packages. & when that isn't enough, fancy hedge funds poor billions of dollars into individual accounts, again of people undeserving.
Who are you to decide who is undeserving?

Very few people could afford oil/gas/coal generated electricity if the TRUE cost were passed on to the consumer.

TRILLIONS in special subsidies & tax breaks & protection from lawsuits keeps the price of electricity & gas artificially low.

What makes you think there will be 20 million more people "sponging off those who work"?
So you have been paid by the tax payers your entire life. That explains the entitlement mentality. Expecting to be taken care of by the tax payer just because you worked for the government for a few years is also part of your entitlement mentality. Just like a politician. While you live off of the tax payers you condone illegal immigration and destroying what people with real jobs have worked for all their lives. You have openly advocated the elimination of all white ethnic groups and spewed your racist crap about Asians, whites and blacks then you call those opposed to illegal immigration racist. You as we all know are a liar, and a fraud so I seriously doubt that you spent 20 years in the military or even 20 days. Most likely that is just another story you have dreamed up while sitting in front of your computer in you mom's basement.

20 million is a realistic estimate of the number of illegal aliens that will receive amnesty. If you include their children I am sure the number will be many times higher.

Which helps the average consumer as well as business and industry. As you said people could not afford electricity if it were not for subsidies.
On the other hand you support illegal immigration, the exploitation of workers and increased taxes which make it more difficult for Americans to afford electricity and will leave more Americans unemployed cold and hungry.
I prefer to subsidies electricity so that Americans can work, eat and stay warm versus subsidizing millions of criminals who have come here illegally to steal from Americans.

They occasionally get things right. Sadly they tend to rule based on politics rather than law and common sense but some times politics, the law and common sense agree, though rarely these days.

I know but I still pointed it out just to show how childish some people can be. There are those who get their rocks off like spoiled little children by insulting people. They take an ignorant and un-defendable position on a subject then try to look smart by insulting people. It is no wonder they are gullible enough to believe what the government, major corporations and the media are feeding them.

Nope, wrong yet again.

I'm simply saying if renewable energy had the same monopoly & subsidies & special breaks that fossil fuels have had the past centuries then it would be as affordable today as energy from fossil fuels.

Sooner or later we have to dump fossil fuels; it's just a question of whether we do it on an organized planned timetable or wait until it may be too late.

I'm banking on the stupid sheeple putting it off until it reaches a crisis and likely causes the collapse of our economy & society.

Again, the point is we're subsidizing the WRONG energy industry.

And yet I take my own advice and get nearly 100% of my electricity/heating/cooling from renewable resources, I ride a bicycle nearly everywhere I go, recycle & compost, seldom buy from "big box stores", etc, etc, etc.

So in fact I DO practice what I preach.

Nope, I get earned full social security benefits from my 20+ years in the service, though I did work for a year after I retired from the military while waiting for my husband to retire as well.

Oh, and of course I agree the SCOTUS decisions were VERY good news. Now my husband and I will get all the same federal benefits as every other married couple, AND it lays the groundwork to overturn the remaining state bans.

In fact, a federal court in Michigan will soon issue their ruling overturning our state ban; the judge was just waiting for the equal protection language in the DOMA decision to further justify his own ruling.

thats great for you, bicycling and washing by the coal oil light. but not everybody can achieve the goal of living like our great-great ancestors did. When the liberals all want to move to the wind fired farm, and give up their cable tv, ipads, and BMW's, that might change.
